Program Overview

Whether you play guitar, the triangle, or sing—we want you!

Here in Western Uganda, most people do not have access to musical training. It is a luxury rather than part of the curriculum. However, we at the Living Music Foundation are passionate about the power of music to transform lives, improve self-esteem, cultural pride, discipline, cognitive skills, emotional intelligence, and more.

Through our volunteer program, we seek to make musical education accessible, offering free music lessons to youths who cannot otherwise afford them. Volunteers will lead music lessons in their instrument of choice and lead community trainings.

Groups we work with include primary schools, orphanages, church groups, and women's empowerment groups. We also offer 1-1 lessons to youths identified as having musical talent but no access to lessons.

Through our program, you will improve personal skills in teaching and cross-cultural learning. You'll experience daily life in Uganda while living with a local family homestay—cooking traditional dishes together and making a lasting impact through music.
