Amazing internship experience!!!

I really should have written this review sooner, but better late than never! I interned for Little Star last Summer for almost three months. It was such an amazing experience and I cannot recommend it enough. Everyone who worked at Little Star was very warm, welcoming, and helpful. I spent part of the time going to agricultural community centers and being an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT). This was interesting because I got to teach lots of different students in various age ranges. The lesson plans were pretty basic and all of the teachers that I assisted were very nice. I was provided with a car by Little Star which I used to drive to each of these locations. I obtained my international drivers permit before coming to Japan so I would be able to drive (you need this). If you aren’t used to driving on the left side of the road, it may be a little bit of an adjustment for you, but I did not have that hard of a time learning. It is very helpful if you have a pocket wi-fi device in case you get lost so you can google maps wherever you need to go. The other part of the time I was at Little Star’s after school program. This has a mix of kids from first grade through sixth grade. When teaching at the after-school program, you have more freedom to plan your own lessons and get more individual teaching experience. The after-school program has mostly the same kids each day so you will be able to get to know them and build relationships with them. I feel like I spent a bit more time at the after school program vs. the agricultural community centers. Little Star provided me with accommodation for the time that I was interning there. It was a single apartment with a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen in an apartment building with the other teachers. The other teachers at the school were very friendly and welcoming!! The apartment was furnished with just about everything that I needed. It was also located just down the street from a 7-eleven, supermarket, and drugstore. The apartment was about a 12-minute walk from the nearest train station. Little Star also gave me free weekly Japanese lessons which were helpful! Little Star is located in Gotemba which is actually a really lovely smaller city. It has absolutely amazing views of Mt. Fuji almost every day as long as it isn’t cloudy. I definitely had many great experiences and did a lot of exploring during my time in Gotemba! Overall, interning at Little Star is a great opportunity for you to experience Japanese language/culture, teaching English as a second language, and make some amazing new friends.

I can relate to everything the girl wrote in the previous post. Whatever she wrote I just feel the same and I would like to give my humble opinion about it. This is a great company with great people that really care for education and human relationships first and you can easily feel you are part of a big, lovely community trying hard to help you live a great experience in exchange of your help to make the English learning fun for the students at the different school branches you may be working at. I actually feel like I earned so much in my 2 months internship at LS. Japan is one of my favourite places in the world and this internship made it possible for me to live its culture at its fullest day by day like a regular Japanese, something that very few lucky people may experience when they travel this amazing country. I'm really glad I chose LS for my first internship in Japan.

I started my internship last September till the end of November. It was an amazing 3 months of gaining teaching experience and getting good friends! I got the same apartment as the girl in the previous post. The apartment is near to the convenience store, near to groceries stores and now even close to the pharmacy because there is a new pharmacy that just opened a month ago! They gave me a car for traveling to the schools. The students were nice, they are familiar with their English syllabus so you won’t have any problems teaching them. Fellow teachers were also so nice, they will always help you! Ls also will provide you Japanese class, which is amazing because you will able to use/ speak basic japanese! Overall, everything detailed in previous posts were all true and I couldn’t agree more!!
