Lincoln University

Lincoln University (Te Whare Wānaka o Aoraki) is New Zealand’s only specialist land-based university, located in Lincoln, Canterbury, about 15 km from Christchurch. With a student population of around 5000 students, Lincoln is New Zealand’s smallest university by enrolment and ranks in the top 15 small universities worldwide. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in agriculture, horticulture, viticulture, environmental science, agribusiness, landscape architecture, and tourism. The university is globally recognised for its excellence in agriculture, ranking in the top 100 worldwide in these subjects. Lincoln University is a member of the Euroleague for Life Sciences and the Global Challenges University Alliance, reflecting its strong international collaborations in life sciences and sustainability. It is also the only New Zealand university ranked in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, which assesses sustainability performance. The university's campus includes the Bert Sutcliffe Oval, a cricket ground that has hosted international matches, and houses the Lincoln University Entomology Research Collection, one of New Zealand's largest insect research collections.
