Seoul Internships with Beyond Academy

I honestly had a pretty solid time. It’s always been a dream of mine to do something this crazy like living and working abroad. My company was super nice and my work hours were super nice too. Most everyone was flexible with my needs and assisting me when needed. I was a research invest analyst so, they have work/positions for every major. So if an Interview doesn’t go as planned there will be more opportunities. The only downside was that I would finish my work sometimes too quickly and would not have anything to do but that’s not the case for most interns. Other interns that were here often had to work weekends. My company was super laid back and often treated me and my colleagues to lunch and dinner. As long as you make the effort to communicate with them even if you don’t speak Korean fluently they will see the effort and do the same for you.

I spent 8 weeks in Seoul with Beyond Academy and overall had a really positive experience. The programme was a great opportunity to gain professional experience in Korea while also developing my confidence working in an international environment. The company organised a range of activities and events for interns, which made it easy to meet other people on the programme and experience different parts of Seoul together. Both the Beyond Academy staff and other interns were very friendly and supportive. The internship also gave me useful professional experience and helped me better understand working culture in Korea, as well as giving me something valuable to take forward in my future career. Although I had to leave my internship partway through due to personal circumstances, I chose to remain in Korea and Beyond Academy were very understanding and supportive of my situation, which I really appreciated. One thing I would recommend to future interns is to keep in mind that internship placements can be a bit hit or miss depending on the company and role. If possible, I would recommend doing a few interviews and considering different offers rather than accepting the first placement you are offered. Overall, though, Beyond Academy provided a friendly and well-supported way to experience working and living in Seoul.

I had an overall great experience with Beyond Academy in Seoul. The staff always offered amazing support regarding questions and was super friendly. You could always join activities with others and built friendships. The internship I did was also very trustworthy and I barley had any major problems, especially with regular check-in’s. I spent 5 months abroad and I felt very safe. A lot of information was always offered, as well as good preparation before coming and joining. I had the best time abroad!

I spend 6 weeks in Seoul during summer 2026. If you are considering this trip you will have a blast! You should do some research before you come so that you are adequately prepared for anything that might come your way. If you like to shop bring some extra luggage!I’m super glad to have the opportunity and the community in Seoul’s made sure I got the most of my 6 weeks there! I made so many friends. Any issues I had there were solved relatively quick and they even helped out with small things here and there.

Would definitely recommend this program for interns who also want to experience a foreign country! Beyond gives plenty of options for host countries, and the team is very helpful before and during the trip! Everyone I met while abroad were so nice as well as the other interns, I will never forget them! Only downside is the price of the trip. Very expensive, but the program also includes two activities every week, but only some are paid for. The difference in accommodation locations were pretty big, and you don't get a say in where you stay. Some interns had to travel over an hour every day for work, but for me personally, I was put in a spot one stop away from my job on the subway, which was perfect. Interning abroad for six weeks was a perfect amount of time to see everything that I wanted to. The Seoul team was very helpful in setting up our subway cards, and answering any questions we had. The range of activities set up for us were very big, some days we visited historical sites, others would be more modern. I feel like I got the full Seoul experience! Thank you Beyond!

Through Beyond Academy, I was able to land an amazing internship and explore Seoul for six weeks! Every step of the way Beyond Academy was there to help and guide me. From helping me prep for interviews or resolving issues with my accommodations, I am so glad that I took this opportunity! This was my first time traveling by myself ever, and I was very nervous about being alone in a new country! But the coordinators in Seoul were so helpful and kind! They made sure that my trip to Seoul went smoothly and that I got to my accommodations safely. Whenever I had a problem I knew I could reach out to them for help! Exploring the city with the coordinators and other interns was definitely a highlight of my trip. Also, working in Seoul is such an amazing experience. I was in Seoul for 6 weeks with beyond academy and my experience was amazing, from the beginning with matching me to a company and all the way to my destination, beyond academy was so supportive, helpful and accommodating. When it came to the application, BA made sure I was set up with a company that matched my goals and aspirations which I really appreciated. It was my first time flying so far from home and alone, but BA was always there to help and support with anything I needed. The days out with the co-ordinators and other interns were 100% the highlights of my time in Seoul! They were rapid in finding me the best spots possible, and helped me with prep and post interview placement, as well what to look out for when in Seoul. My experience was a fantastic one to be eexact. Once I landed, I was greeted by the coordinators and was taken around the following day. I enjoyed my time working at the internship; and any issues that arose, I spoke to the coordinators about it and it was quickly resolved. One of the best parts about the internship was the people you meet along the way. The coordinators and interns were very fun to around with and that was amongst the highlights. Everything about my time in Seoul was more than I expected.

I completed the Beyond Academy Immersive Internship Program in Seoul, where I did a fashion internship, and I genuinely cannot recommend it enough. This experience has honestly been life-changing and has shaped me into such a new version of myself. Beyond Academy helped me grow in ways I didn’t even realise I needed. My skills developed so much, but more than anything, my confidence grew massively. Living and working abroad pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way possible, and I now feel way more comfortable in my work, in new environments, and in myself overall. I’ve come away feeling inspired, motivated, and so much more sure of what I’m capable of. One of my favourite parts of the program was the weekly events Beyond Academy organised. They were genuinely so fun and such a good way to explore Seoul, meet new people, and actually say yes to things I probably wouldn’t have done otherwise. They really helped push me out of my comfort zone, and we got to experience so many traditional Korean activities, which was honestly amazing and made the whole experience feel super immersive and special. The support from the Beyond Academy team was incredible from start to finish. There was always someone there if you needed a chat, some advice, or support if something didn’t feel quite right. Everyone on the team is genuinely so kind, welcoming, and supportive — some of the loveliest people I’ve met — and it made such a difference knowing you were never doing this experience alone. I’ve also made the most amazing friends from all over the world, friendships I know I’ll have for life. Got to experience living and working in the heart of South Korea! As a solo female traveller, I never felt lonely or scared, as the community at Beyond were so welcoming and attentive during the whole process from in depth discussions about my career goals and aspirations to booking my flights, and navigating Seoul on the ground. Social events were planned every week which were tailored and coordinated according to our preferences and feedback. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have met so many likeminded people around the globe, some which I know will be lifelong friends!!

I really enjoyed the social opportunities with Beyond Academy, as it allowed me to connect with other interns going through similar experiences. Before the program, I struggled to make friends while studying Korean, but here, I quickly made lasting connections. The staff was incredibly helpful, always quick to respond and easy to talk to. As for work, I was lucky with my company—they were kind and supportive, and everyone spoke English. My commute was also simple, just 25 minutes with two transfers. While other interns had different experiences, it's worth noting that travel times and work environments can vary. Overall, Beyond Academy provided an enriching experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional and social internship abroad!

This year I had the pleasure of spending two unforgettable months in Seoul. From the day I arrived I felt total support from the amazing community team who made my life easier and planned some great events which I always looked forward to. My internship was full of learning and challenges along the way where I was always pushed to be better and I am grateful to have spent it at the company that I did. The accommodation was also really nice, had an amazing view of the Han River, and gave me the opportunity to meet amazing people who I am grateful to call friends. I always wanted to try living and working abroad and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Living in Seoul felt like something out of a fantasy to me and helped me realise a dream. I will always be thankful to have had this incredible experience.

The first highlight of the stay is the accomodation. A room in Dangsan with a stunning view of the city and the Han river, with access to the rooftop. The stay included a kitchen which I shared with amazing flatmates who became friends, as well as an ensuite bathroom and modern gym. Just a short trip away was my internship, which was thoroughly rewarding and insightful, giving me an experience I won't forget on the beautiful Yonsei University campus. The Seoul co-ordinator team were also a highlight, all very friendly, supportive, and helpful. The events were exciting and affordable, and covered many of the best spots in Seoul.

I loved my internship at Positive Me in Seoul, South Korea, coordinated by Beyond Academy! It can be really scary to go to a new country where you don’t really speak the language and there are large cultural differences from what you’re used to but Beyond Academy was so helpful in helping me adjust and find community! There were tons of really cool activities, the internship was very eye-opening about what I may want to do in the future, and the office environment was incredibly friendly. Overall, I think it is a really formative experience to go to a new country where there are stark cultural differences while you are young to help you appreciate the diversity of the world and the importance of learning about different cultures.

My experience with the internship was great! I made a lot of great connections and had a great balance of time working, exploring, and socializing. This program really allows you to fall into a nice rhythm and the weeks go by quickly! I met a lot of great people and had some great experiences, without a doubt. On my own time I left Seoul and explored the rest of the country a bit, joined language exchange events, and made some career connections I might have never made otherwise! South Korea is a great country and Seoul is one of my favorite cities, so it was a pleasure!

The beyond academy programme itself is absolutely amazing. The staff and locals are all very friendly and want to help you in any way they can. The events planned during the trip were a nice mixture of touristy and non-touristy events so there is something for everyone. I would highly recommend choosing the Seoul location as it is a gorgeous place to live with so much culture. In terms of the actual work placement, I would recommend that everyone ask questions to your host company before choosing them and don’t be afraid to ask for a different placement in order to make sure you actually get placed in a field that you want to be in.

Seoul is a perfect city to live in for a while because it gives you the opportunity to experience something completely different and full of new experiences. When I started my experience in Seoul with Beyond, from the very first moment, the group of coordinators has been the best helping me in every possible way to make our experience as good as possible by organising many interesting and fun activities. Regarding the internship itself, I have to say that you have to be a bit specific when choosing what you want to work in and make sure that the company is the right one and that you think you will learn. In my case, I had to change companies because I wasn't working in exactly what I wanted, but when I moved to the second company, my work experience improved considerably.

I’d wanted to travel to South Korea for a very long time but was always too nervous to go by myself. As a recent graduate that is looking to begin my career in my chosen industry but also take some time for myself to travel, Beyond Academy provided the perfect opportunity for me to not only find work experience in another country and experience work culture there, but visit my dream destination and be surrounded by kind and helpful people. I really recommend this program to solo travellers or people wanting experience working in other countries but aren’t a quite sure how to do it! Beyond Academy also plans lots of events and group activities so that even though you’re working, you still feel like you have seen all the sights and done lots of fun things during your internship! It is also a great way to make friends and find a warm community of people to make your stay much more enjoyable!

My time at beyond academy has been one of the best I've had so far! I was in Seoul for a little over two months and it was great! The people from beyond were so nice and it felt like they were there for us 24/7. We also did things together besides the events and in my case I was able to make some great new friends! My internship was a huge success and I was able to make a huge leap forward in my career. I did an internship as a fashion designer and made some lovely new contacts that will be really helpful in the future. In addition to the internship, it was also possible for me to visit my old internship place in Paris at a trade fair! I can only recommend Beyond academy to anyone who is open to something new and wants to pursue a career abroad, because it really is a huge springboard!

The 6 week period I spent in Seoul was one I will cherish forever, for it pushed me so far out of my comfort zone that I was able to learn many new things not only about myself but also about a new culture, people, life in a foreign country, etc. This internship provided me with skills and experiences I won’t be able to find anywhere else, while also being surrounded by a new and welcoming community. At first the change from my regular day to day life was very jarring and I found it difficult to adjust, but thanks to those around me, I soon felt comfortable and confident about my new position. I can only praise and highly recommend BeyondAcademy.

With the right internship, this experience can be extremely beneficial to you. Not only do you get to experience the work culture of South Korea, but you also get to experience how they live, the different foods, drinking culture and the vast history of the country and its capital. With all shops and cafes open until 10pm, it allows you to do things after work and I would normally stay out until at least 9pm nearly every night just because there are things you can actually do especially for me because I come from a place where everything closes at 6pm. All the events that are planned are mostly well thought out, but some can be feel a bit rushed but that never really bothered me because I knew I did have time to visit again if I wanted to. It is a very worthwhile experience.

When I first stumbled upon Beyond Academy and the possibility to do an internship abroad, I definetely thought it was a scam - but I was proven wrong! Although the programm fees are not peanuts and I would prefer to have more transparency on what the fees are used on, I am so happy with how the program went! Twice a week all of the lovely coordinators did their best to plan social events to explore Seoul, although some of the planned activities where a little too stressful with too places you needed to visit (for example the Hanbok event) or places closing soon (DDP Design Plaza). But most of the time the days are planned well and it was a great way to catch up with the other interns in the programm, so you feel integrated and not alone in a new environment. As for my internship company - I really learned a lot in my field of video editing and social media! Obviously there were ups and downs within the time being in the intern company, but for me it was a great opportunity to improve my resume and portfolio! For reference I did 3 months and for me it was the perfect length to have enough time to learn and integrate more into the company. So I would definetely recommend doing this experience if you have some savings, want to improve your resume and explore a new city!

When I first came across Beyond Academy, I could not believe my eyes, it just seemed too good to be true. But from first contact onwards, it truly was as good as they promised. Every point of contact was warm and welcoming, they truly take the time and care to tailor this internship to be what you want. I had such a hard time deciding on which company I wanted to intern with, because the two they found me were so amazing, it hurt me to see the other one go. But once the decision was made, this very informative countdown started, I would receive emails with very important information and reminders to make my trip to Seoul much easier. Once I arrived at my destination, the team was a huge source of comfort, because no matter what, I knew that there was someone I could turn to in the case of an emergency. Not only that, but they took the time to plan all these activities (taking into consideration what me and other interns would enjoy), so I truly feel like I made good use of my time, and I got to experience Seoul in a way not many get to do. I was really happy with my experience at Beyond. When my initial internship didn't turn out the way I expected, I was able to work with the team at Beyond and my intern company to find a solution that satisfied everyone. I was happy that the Beyond staff worked so hard to make sure I was satisfied with my internship experience. In the end, I found not only a better company to continue my internship but also a permanent working position within that company after my internship ended. I was able to meet really cool people and had some great experiences through this program as well. I would recommend this program to anyone interested in trying an internship experience here in Seoul, as long as you come with the right mindset. Remember the Korean working environment is probably much different than what you are used to. So if you are a flexible type of person and think you can handle it, give it a try.

I have had one of the most amazing and memorable experiences here in Seoul with Beyond Academy. Not only do you get a fulfilling internship experience, but the events they’re organise and the community coordinators are the best bits!! They make you feel at home and the interns and coordinators become a little family!! I really recommend this experience, as it is an amazing way to grow as a person while also building an amazing opportunity to write on your CV. Coming to Aouth Korea was already a dream come true. Working at a Korean company was a culture shock for sure but everyone was nice and understanding. Beyond prepared events that had me fully immersed and not wanting to leave Korea.

During my internship in Seoul, I learned so much and had such a wonderful time. I was able to meet a lot of interesting people in my industry who I never would have had the chance to meet otherwise, so the networking chances were fantastic. The friendships I developed with the other interns were the icing on the cake, and it was an amazing experience getting to know so many people from different countries. The coordinators are really kind and helpful, and also fun! The weekly events organised for us were fantastic, and they made the whole experience that much more enjoyable and educational. The office environment was not only friendly, but also entertaining and very generous. This was my first trip to South Korea, so I wanted to make sure I could enter and stay in the country without any problems as I don't even speak the language. Beyond Academy ensured that I could do all of that prepared to answer any question I had. My internship was the best possible experience.

The Seoul program made my first internship experience convenient, exciting and led me to meet some wonderful people. The program and the supervisors were professionally assisting me from the very start of the application to the end when I was leaving Seoul. My internship was amazing as it was exactly the right atmosphere I hoped for. I did not only work in a creative environment learning stuff but also explored Seoul and had a lot of fun both working and exploring/partying in Seoul.

This was a great way to do an internship while exploring a different part of the world. Beyond Academy did a great job of finding an internship that was a good fit for me. The accommodation they provided was a nice place with a short commute to the place I worked. They had weekly fun community events where you could get to know other interns. Beyond Academy was great about providing lots of information about each step of the program. They were super helpful whenever I needed help with anything. I really enjoyed my time in the program.

The program was fun. They have events lined up for you, and I got to meet great people to hang out with over the program. They're pretty good at finding what's trendy at the moment and recommend events outside of the program as well. Regarding internships, they found one for me pretty fast, and it was with a great start-up in a nice working environment (for context, I'm an architecture student btw, might be different for other industries). Overall, great!

This was my first time away from home since COVID was in the way of moving out for college and I was pleasantly surprised at how at home I felt because the community support was there even from before I arrived! I would definitely recommend this to get out of your shell and explore!

As this program was pretty expensive, I was hesitant to sign up, but I'm really glad I did! Overall, it's been a really great experience and I enjoy the company I'm interning at. There's events twice a week, which helps you get to know the city, have meaningful experiences, and keeps you in contact with the other interns, which I find really beneficial. I will say, there was some radio silence between when I got my internship placement and the weeks before departure which made me a bit anxious, but everything worked out. My parents were worried about this being a scam as well since they hadn't heard of BA at all, but the Seoul coordinator Alize and the global coordinator Anne Marie set up a zoom call with them to answer any questions that they had (thank you both so much for that again). The one downside I've had was with housing, as I had some issues that BA couldn't do anything about and the location of the housing is pretty far (about a 50 minute subway ride). But overall, really great experience and I feel like I've grown a lot as a professional in my preferred field!

I've felt so welcomed since I arrived, and I've gained a lot of valuable work experience that will undoubtedly help me in my later career. Everyone was extremely helpful at every stage of the process, and I hope to return at some point in the future!

Coming to Seoul was the best decision of my life. Since I originally applied for Tokyo, but couldn't make it due to Covid restrictions, I had no idea what to expect from Seoul. I only heared of an unhealthy work-life balance and and absolute discipline among the society. But my picture totally changed. I kind of got adopted by my coworker who always made sure I was feeling good, did not overwork myself and could eat vegetarian food. Additionally my boss and the whole beyond academy was really caring too. All Koreans I meat were respectfull, helpfull, even when you couldn't speak the language, friendly and overall welcoming to foreigners. Besides that I had the best time with my fellow programm people. We cooked together at out accomondation, went out for partying and got along really well. On top of that was the food experiance. At first it was tough to find vegetarian food, but once you knew your spots, it was amazing. I fell in love with all kinds of food and how healthy it is.

Taking part in this program was something I never would’ve imagined for myself. It was more than I ever could’ve hoped for. The experiences, the food, the new friends were all some of the best experiences of my life. I’ve made life long memories here with new lifelong friends that I will consider such a big part of my life.

Finding an internship and traveling abroad can often be a scary, lonely experience, especially if you're away for a long time. That is why I do not regret choosing to do it with Beyond Academy (BA). The community they've created in Seoul is full of fun, support, and simply fantastic people. My beginning in Seoul wasn't easy, but BA made it feel so safe, and eventually, it became my second home. I was there for 4 months, and each month was filled with amazing experiences arranged by BA. What I think is worth highlighting is the fact that the program managers are always there to help you, from places to go in Seoul, to travel advice, to how to order food. I can highly recommend this program to anyone wanting to do an internship abroad!

I really enjoyed the internship program of Beyond Academy here in Seoul! It’s very well structured and the coordinators are very kind and helpful. Therefore it was very easy to adjust to the new country/city and make new friends with in the program. The events were very good to get closer to the city life and the Korean culture. I had an amazing time here and lot of fun and was able to gain experience.

As a recent undergrad, I was looking forward to traveling. When I came across Beyond Academy, this would be the perfect opportunity to do so. Once I had chosen my location and arrived in Seoul, I was beyond (no pun intended) nervous because I didn't know what to expect. I was so glad that Beyond Academy made me as comfortable as possible. Everything from them was organized well, and I got to my accommodation in one piece. Where I stayed was nice. I loved the location because I was only a minute from the station and everything around my accommodation was highly convenient. No fault is going towards Beyond Academy, but I hoped to have more amenities at my accommodation. Alize, our coordinator, was so great! She helped us navigate the city and find our workplace, which was extremely helpful, and I made friends for life! Also, the events that Beyond Academy set up were scheduled every week, which was nice because there was always something to look forward to, and it helped all of us interns get closer! Our other coordinator, Sooyeon, was also fantastic at attending the events, making us feel like we were having a fun experience in Seoul! I felt like I had support every step of the way, and I never felt alone, which was my biggest concern. Everyone has been so kind and helpful, making me feel safe and comfortable. Honestly, this internship went much better than I expected, and as someone who has never traveled this far from home, I didn't know if I could do it. This program helped me step out of my comfort zone and helped me grow as a person! My chosen internship placement was great as well! I didn't have any issues, and I was also glad that I could get the whole experience of learning about K-Pop, and Korean culture and having fun every day! If you're hesitant about studying abroad or flying far from home, step out of your comfort zone and go because you will have a great time through Beyond Academy. I am proud to be a Beyonder, and hopefully, soon, I'll return to Seoul because it is the best place I have ever traveled to thus far!

I'm so glad to have joined the program and decided to intern in Seoul. Travelling abroad and immersing yourself in a new culture can be challenging at first but having the most supportive people throughout the program was really helpful. The two coordinators based in Seoul are really kind and helped me with all the questions I had. The events and fun trips they organize are a great way to spend time together with all the other interns and make new friends. I'm happy about the host company I worked with, the opportunities and the new skills've learned during my internship in Seoul. The accomodation is in a convenient location with shops nearby and the subway station. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to travel, learn, netowork, meet new people, and grow as an individual.

Experience was overall positive, as a relatively independent traveller (i.e., didn't need to chase after Beyond Academy for much). Would recommend to recent graduates. A good way to get work experience as well as travel and immerse in new cultures.

I had a great experience with Beyond Academy. There’s nothing like having someone on the ground in Seoul who can help identify the companies that are open to English-speaking interns. It’s not easy to do. But what really shines about Beyond Academy is the community. The community managers make sure you never feel alone. They welcome you with open arms and fill your social calendar with fun, culturally-rich activities that you can share with other interns. And they’re always there when you need support or if you just want to hang out. We’re still friends to this day! The cherry on top: my internship turned into a remote part-time job while I finish school; I seriously don’t have any complaints! The program may be on the pricy side, but it was well worth it for me. Would 100% recommend if you can swing it.

The BA team was so amazing the entire time. They felt like such welcoming friends and made a new city feel like home, quickly. Events & activities were carried out every week so there was no chance to feel bored. I enjoyed my internship loads! Such a great experience.

I could have gone to Seoul entirely on my own but going through Beyond Academy means i can also put a great internship on my resume, network, and also meet other interns from all around the world. They planned multiple events every week for us to experience Seoul and as a result i’ve made lasting friendships and have felt like I had a family away from home.

If you're looking for an internship program while living abroad, look no further! Beyond Academy has been absolutely amazing on every step of the way. Up from my application the staff has been really helpful and transparent, while always making sure I'd stay informed and offering lots of resources to prepare for your interviews. Due to the amazing support I've never felt like I was on my own. Especially the community coordinators in Seoul have gone above and beyond to make sure I feel at home and are always available if you need help in any way. Don't worry about feeling lonely as you'll be part of an amazing community giving you lots of opportunities to explore the city/country by going to the many events and trips organised by Beyond Academy. Overall I've had the best experience, the program has exceeded my expectations and I'm so happy for choosing Beyond Academy !!

I am so happy that I made the decision to apply with Beyond Academy to help me find an internship and live abroad in Korea. I was out of my comfort zone and everything was just perfect. I have no complaints from my time that I spent there and I will definitely go again very soon and maybe even apply to another country with Beyond Academy! :). I got assistance with everything that I needed and I absolutely loved having day trips and exploring with the group when I was not working. My coordinator Alize was amazing in everything she did, she worked hard to get us the best experience while in Korea and was a huge asset and she accomplished everything! I learned the language more as well :). Thank you Beyond Academy very much for everything that you do and hope to apply soon again!

My time with Beyond Academy has been super amazing. All through the process they have been informative and helpful, answered all my questions and made sure I was never in the dark about anything, giving all the info I needed about the pragmatics of my travel. My tour guide Alize in particular has been absolutely wonderful and so so willing to always help, no matter the challenging situations we seem to find ourselves in, and the flexibility and freedom given to decide on the sort of activities we want to do has been great. I also feel that Alize's understanding of the city really meant that we have been able to get a feel for the city from the perspective of a true local. The support offered by having a guide also meant that someone was there to support you to ease the hard transition and hold your hand during the hard moments, and help navigate things I would've been very stressed to do alone, like checking in, finding my workplace, and navigating the language barrier. It also means when you get here, it's impossible to feel lonely. The activities have been varied and exciting too, though I felt in the winter months in particular it was harder to find things to do due to the temperature - I definitely recommend the warmer months. The complimentary gifts, meals, historical tours and even trips (!!) from Beyond Academy, as well as their willingness to offer support particularly with Covid difficulties (i.e. covering some of my hotel quarantine cost) have been a lovely addition. There were a few hitches, particularly due to Covid, where I believe I could have been warned a little earlier about things (e.g. travelling elsewhere for my 90 day tourism visa when Japan is in fact closed), or the fact that my internship wasn't directly related to the field I applied to, due to many of their partners being unable to take someone on during the pandemic. But overall, the programme has given me such a unique means of exploring Seoul, and offered immediate support at every turn when these things haven't quite gone right. It is their willingness to always help and improve your experience, that will stick with me. I think I couldn't have experienced Seoul in a way that had a more perfect blend of support and structure alongside giving you the freedom and knowledge to navigate the city yourself.

The Beyond team really went out of their way to help make everything happen. After failing my first interview, Krystal did an hour-long video call with me and helped me work on my confidence and interview skills. Her advice helped so much and I was successful on my next one! I was all set for my Seoul program but due to covid situation unfortunately I was not able to go as planned. Beyond had already lined up the internship but as I couldn’t delay my start date, I ended up doing most of it online. I’m actually very glad with how things turned out. My internship was 2.5 months and my colleagues really made me feel part of the team. I also managed to sit in on many client and agency zoom meetings which was cool!. My company is a mid to high-end fashion brand based in Seoul that’s now expanding their marketing reach to the US. So everything actually worked out super well. I hope to join Beyond again in summer 2022!
