Volunteers will be based in a hospital that provides services in general medicine: ophthalmology, ECG, venereology, dermatology, x-ray, laboratory tests, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, medicine, ultrasound, and mother and child healthcare.
There is only one laboratory in the whole hospital, which focuses on blood, urine, and feces, so volunteers will never be short of work to do! This is a fantastic project for anyone with an interest in laboratory work as volunteers will gain an insight into local diseases. Volunteers are highly valued by the local staff and encourage cross-cultural awareness and the development of making global citizens.
