Get the chance to volunteer in a laboratory in Ghana, an area that needs your support. Volunteers will be based in a hospital that provides services in general medicine: ophthalmology, ECG, venereology, dermatology, x-ray, laboratory tests, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, medicine, ultrasound, and mother and child healthcare.
There is only one laboratory in the whole hospital, which focuses on blood, urine, and feces, so volunteers will never be short of work to do! This is a fantastic project for anyone with an interest in laboratory work as volunteers will gain an insight into local diseases. Volunteers are highly valued by the local staff and encourage cross-cultural awareness and the development of making global citizens.
In connection to COVID-19, Ghana has put in place some precautionary measures for the locals' and visitors' safety. Volunteers need to be fully vaccinated to participate in the program. You will also be required to take a PCR test at the airport upon arrival in Ghana. You will be spending the first three nights in a hotel arranged by the ground team before joining your homestay.

Ghana is a safe country to visit, so you shouldn’t worry about your safety while volunteering! What is the accommodation like in Ghana?
