Psychology and Social Work Internship in Ecuador

Program Overview
Travel to Ecuador for this program, which will have you working with one of our partner NGOs in Quito. They provide support to children with language disabilities or autism, and your role largely involves assisting with their educational intervention methods. Contribute to the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation necessary for each child’s development and learning. You will collaborate with families, professionals, and schools throughout the internship. Get involved with various rehabilitation programs in this Psychology and Social Work Internship in Ecuador, depending on the project’s current needs and your skillset. As an intern, you’ll form an integral part of the team, helping to improve the children’s learning, development, social inclusion, and quality of life. This internship is available for Spring, with arrivals throughout the year. It’s particularly suited to students of psychology, social work, psychopedagogy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. Any experience with language disorders and autism is highly regarded but not required. A B1 level of Spanish, along with empathy, dedication, patience, flexibility and humility, are necessary.

Do you need any requirements to be a Psychology & Social Work intern?
This internship is particularly suited to those who are currently studying social work, psychology, occupational therapy, psychology and psychopedagogy. Due to the nature of the role, interns must be empathetic, dedicated and patient. Interns are also required to have a minimum B1 level (CEFR) of Spanish to get the most out of this internship.
