Join the team of an NGO in Quito in this internship program abroad and get placed based on your interests, skills, and studies. You will form an essential part of an under-resourced nonprofit organization, allowing you to directly make an impact on the local community. At the same time, you’ll gain a meaningful cross-cultural experience while interacting with Ecuadorians and other interns from around the world.

Learn about the operations of nonprofit organizations while immersing yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Quito.

The program is available throughout the year. To be eligible, you need to be highly motivated, flexible, diligent, and able to manage your time well. You must also possess good communication and collaboration skills since you’ll be working within a multicultural team. At least an A2 beginner level of Spanish is required to make the most of your experience.

As an intern you will;

  • Research funding opportunities and write grant proposals

  • Work with key stakeholders in the community and ensure development activities are meeting the needs of local people

Do I need to know Spanish to intern in Ecuador?

You need to have a minimum CEFR A2 level of Spanish knowledge to intern within these NGOs to communicate with the community and to get the most from your experience.
