Microfinance Internship in Peru
Join an internship program abroad that has been providing microfinance services to local people for 20 years! The Microfinance Internship in Peru partners with communities in and around Cusco, particularly in rural areas. This project offers an essential means for Peruvians to finance their small businesses and earn sustainable income to support their families. As a Business and Microfinance Intern, you’ll ensure the project’s success by assisting with administrative work and community visits. Your duties may include running education sessions on financial management, visiting small companies that offer loans, and visiting borrowers to gauge their business and ability to manage finances. This internship program is available all year round and lasts 4–12 weeks or longer. Eligibility includes an intermediate level of Spanish (Level B1 Intermediate User of CEFR), as you will need to converse with locals who speak little to no English. Individuals with a major or background in economics, accountancy, banking or international development will be of most use to the local project team.
