Program Overview

Have the opportunity to gain invaluable work experience at an award-winning backpacker in Cape Town (South Africa) or Ezulwini Valley (Swaziland). This internship is based either in a bustling city or a setting with natural surroundings. Lasting 4–12 weeks, both placements accommodate international guests and you’ll be involved with a variety of tasks.

Learn how to run a lodge or accommodation in a country different from your own in this internship abroad. You will develop a different perspective than a placement back home, as you will be exposed to guests from around the globe as well as to both local and international staff. Your duties include booking guests, assisting with check in, supporting marketing campaigns, performing frontline tasks, and more. You are expected to take on some of your own responsibilities and come up with goals to get the most out of the experience.

As an intern, you need to bring some knowledge and/or experience in hospitality management. You must have self-motivation and initiative when seeking activities to be involved in or lead. The ability to speak English fluently, patience, and sensitivity to the needs of the guests are essential.
