Environmental Conservation in the North Island, New Zealand
Program Overview
Travel to New Zealand and be a part of various environmental conservation projects which aim to conserve the country's beautiful and unique natural landscapes. Volunteers will undertake tasks such as endangered species protection, tree planting, heritage restoration, environmental monitoring, and disaster relief, among others. Volunteers can choose to work on the North or South Island. Although you will start in Auckland, you can choose to transfer directly to more rural locations around Hamilton where you can really enjoy the environment and landscapes. There are no specific skills required for this project but you must have a love for the outdoors. Volunteers should be prepared to work in a team and must have a positive attitude. You also need to have a reasonable level of fitness in order to take part in all activities.
