My degree at IU gave me a comprehensive overview of the business administration side of things. So now I know that it’s not just about understanding processes; I also know what it means to complete a high quality IT project on time and in budget. Through virtual lecture rooms and digital lecture notes, online learning at IU is particularly suitable if you work irregular hours or at different locations.

My favourite thing about studying at IU is that it is very flexible, and I think that is the best thing: that you can manage your time the way you want. However, if you choose a degree programme and want to study, you have to take responsibility for the next few years and invest the time. But this flexibility is a very good argument for the degree programme. Another positive point for me is the IU experience. When you teach for many years with many, many thousands of students, you keep growing and you are so well known that you have already converted many of your degree programmes completely to online... for me that was a very big plus. This also proved to be very beneficial in my subsequent job search. ;)

As for my choice of university, there was a variety of factors that attracted me to IU: for one, their Master programmes are offered entirely in English, and I loved their commitment to small-group teaching, the practice-oriented ethos, and the internationality of the campus environment. It was also a big advantage that during our third semester in particular, all our lectures were taught by industry experts, which really helped me understand how the skills I was learning would help me in an actual HR role.
