Istmo Retreat & Adventures is a family-run retreat center in Panama that partners with universities and colleges to host faculty-led study abroad programs. Founded in 2015 by Returned Peace Corps Volunteers Sean Davis, M.Ed., and Ayesha Davis, M.S., we provide an all-inclusive venue where groups of 8-24 have exclusive use of private lodging, chef-prepared meals, meeting spaces, and coordinated excursions—90 minutes from Panama City. As Forum on Education Abroad members, we handle logistics so faculty can focus on teaching. Programs range from one week to a full semester, with field access to the Panama Canal, Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, indigenous communities, and Pacific/Caribbean coastlines. We don't design curriculum—you do. We provide the platform, local expertise, and 20+ years of relationships in Panama that make field-based learning possible.
