Despite this reverence, many suffer from abuse, poaching, deforestation, and habitat loss—factors that have contributed to their endangered status. The Elephant Care Program focuses on improving the well-being of elephants through age- and health-appropriate care. As a participant, you'll play a hands-on role in maintaining a clean, safe, and enriching environment for these gentle giants. Your week begins with an introduction to Asian elephants and a session on preparing traditional Thai herbal medicine, guided by experienced sanctuary staff.
