IVHQ volunteers on the Wolf Conservation project in Portugal work in a center focusing on conservation, education and environment preservation. The wolves are unable to be released into the wild so have been re-homed at the center after arriving from zoos, illegal trapping or illegal captivity. IVHQ volunteers on the Wolf Conservation project in Portugal work in a center focusing on conservation, education and environment preservation. The wolves are unable to be released into the wild so have been re-homed at the center after arriving from zoos, illegal trapping or illegal captivity. Participating in a wide range of day-to-day activities at the center, volunteers have the opportunity to assist with animal feeding, maintenance of the center, cleaning and observing wolf behavior. Volunteers on this project should be aware that they will not have any direct contact with the wolves.

An unforgettable experience!

Meeting so many new people was a very enjoyable experience, after all I am a super extrovert! The country's climate was colder than expected which allowed us to work more often. The tasks were difficult but nothing too unreasonable. Learning a new language was also very engaging and getting laughed at when saying things wrong was also entertaining! Overall, I would definitely recommend this program...
