IVHQ volunteers participating in the Food Rescue project will have the opportunity to join the efforts of a community movement with a goal of eliminating food waste and end hunger. Volunteers help a network of centers to distribute food, which is recovered from local restaurants and supermarkets, to families, elderly and homeless in need. Working across the centers in Lisbon, volunteers tasks coul...
IVHQ volunteers participating in the Food Rescue project will have the opportunity to join the efforts of a community movement with a goal of eliminating food waste and end hunger. Volunteers help a network of centers to distribute food, which is recovered from local restaurants and supermarkets, to families, elderly and homeless in need. Working across the centers in Lisbon, volunteers tasks could include, assisting with the packaging of food, distribution, sorting and storage of food and cleaning up at the end of the shift.

Best decision ever!

The IVHQ staff were more than helpful and amazing overall, they really help us adjust to our new home and to our project. The project itself was really interesting and made a big impact. The city is surreal, very diverse, rich and full of life.

I was worried my pick-up guy abandoned me, but he was still around. We drove to the location. My initial glimpses of Lisbon were not too pretty: It looked like we were in the middle of nowhere, some back-country land.
