Volunteers on the Teaching program in Sigatoka support local schools and after-school programs where class sizes can be large and resources limited. You will assist teachers by running lessons, tutoring students, preparing learning materials, leading interactive classes in English, maths, arts, or life skills, and helping children practise reading, writing and conversation. In after-school tutorials you may lead creative games, art, songs or group projects to make learning enjoyable and engaging.
This placement is ideal for volunteers who enjoy working with children and want to contribute to education at a grassroots level. No formal teaching certificate is required because local staff provide guidance. What matters most is enthusiasm, patience, flexibility, good communication and a genuine interest in supporting learning.
Shared volunteer accommodation is provided in a dormitory-style house. During your free time you can explore the surrounding area, enjoy beach and coastal life, discover Fijian culture, practise English, and experience life on the Coral Coast while making a meaningful impact in education.
