If you're still hesitant about volunteering, just do it

My favorite moments from this volunteer experience were getting a perspective from a teacher from a third-world country and talking to children and their dreams for the future. I got really attached to these kids, my last day I wished I could stay with them. These kids have motivated me to figure out what I want to do with my future, I used to be between a career in social matters or in the medical field but now being with them and seeing the struggles that many children go through has given me a million reasons what I want to do. If you're still hesitant about volunteering, just do it, and you will gain so much experience. It's an opportunity that many don't have and need to be at peace with themself. Volunteering has a huge impact on you and it's for the best.

Unforgettable experience

I went to Guatemala for 7 weeks to volunteer in childcare. Before going I was unsure what to expect and I was nervous as I had heard stories that Guatemala wasn't safe but the moment I arrived I was picked up and transferred to where I would be staying in a house with 14 other volunteers! I immediately made friends and the company organising everything was very helpful! The childcare program was amazing and I helped out after school teaching maths, English and crafts! I never felt unsafe and I travelled around Guatemala on the weekends. If someone ever felt ill at my house the company would send a doctor around to help out and prescribe medicine! Overall I had the best time of my life and I am definitely returning soon!
