Support community schools and learning centers that have limited resources for language education. You will help students of different ages build confidence in reading, writing and speaking English, giving them skills that can open doors to further education and employment opportunities. Typical tasks include assisting teachers with lesson delivery, leading conversation practice, supporting pronunciation, helping students with reading and writing exercises, preparing simple learning materials and organising games or creative activities that make learning engaging. Depending on your placement, you may also tutor small groups or help run informal after school sessions that encourage practical language use. This program is ideal for volunteers who enjoy teaching, mentoring and cultural exchange. You do not need formal teaching experience because local staff provide guidance and structure. A positive attitude, patience, cultural sensitivity and willingness to adapt to different learning levels are essential for a rewarding placement. In your free time you can explore Moroccan cities, visit markets and historic sites, enjoy local cuisine and connect with community life.

I fell in love with the culture and the people and instantly felt at home.

I gained an experience of a lifetime. I was really scared before I landed in Morocco and wasn’t sure what to expect but from my first day there, I fell in love with the culture and the people and instantly felt at home. I loved my project and wish I could have stayed longer. One of the most valuable parts of my experience was learning the language with a native French teacher. It really added to my overall experience and gave me a real insight into the culture and lifestyle there! I’d recommend :)
