Join the Teaching English program in Quito with International Volunteer HQ and help expand learning opportunities for children in under resourced schools. Volunteers assist local teachers by supporting English lessons, guiding small group activities, leading conversational practice, helping with basic grammar or vocabulary sessions and providing individual attention to students who need extra support. This contribution is highly valued because strong English skills can open doors to future education and employment opportunities for young learners.
Volunteers usually teach or assist for several hours a day from Tuesday to Friday and may work with children between the ages of three and twelve depending on placement needs. No formal teaching experience is required as long as you speak English confidently and are eager to help. Basic Spanish can be helpful but is not necessary.
Programs offer flexible start dates and durations. In your free time you can explore Quito’s historic old town, colourful markets, mountain overlooks and rich Andean culture while making a genuine impact in the classroom.
