Support community and conservation projects in Lisbon, Porto, Mafra and Miranda do Corvo. You can choose from programs such as animal care, community support, homeless support, youth work, environmental conservation, ecological surf, food rescue, wildlife and forest conservation.
Depending on the project, you may help at animal shelters caring for dogs and cats, assist social services supporting vulnerable groups, take part in clean ups, help preserve habitats, or work with youth to deliver educational and social-support activities. Projects are run by local organisations, supporting community needs.
Programs run for one to twelve weeks, with volunteering of two to five hours per day. Accommodation is in dormitory-style hostels, shared apartments or cabins, and includes meals, orientation, airport pickup and in-country support. Volunteers can be individuals, couples, groups or families, starting from age sixteen.
When not volunteering you can explore Portugal’s culture, cities, beaches, coastline and natural parks. This experience offers a flexible way to contribute, meet people and experience Portuguese life while supporting communities and the environment.
