Opportunities include Animal Care, Community Support, Refugee Support, Homeless Support, and Ethical Fashion. Each project focuses on helping vulnerable groups and strengthening services that many people rely on. Volunteers may help care for rescued animals, prepare and distribute meals, sort and organise donations, support language or integration activities, assist with children’s or community workshops, or contribute to initiatives that promote empowerment and self-sufficiency.
Daily tasks vary by placement, but all roles offer the chance to make a meaningful contribution while working alongside dedicated local teams. Volunteers help expand the reach of community organisations, provide companionship and encouragement to people experiencing hardship, and support projects that reduce inequality across Athens.
Programs typically run from one to twelve weeks with volunteer commitments of around three to five hours per day. Shared accommodation, meals, orientation, and in-country support are included. Volunteering in Athens provides hands-on experience in impactful community settings and the chance to engage deeply with Greek culture while supporting important local initiatives.
