Get TEFL Certified & Teach English in Taiwan!

In addition to the TEFL course - which I loved - ITA has connections with my current school, so they were able to recommend it as a school I could go to without a BA degree. I've had a fantastic experience and I have ITA to thank for that.

The ITA course was just about right in terms of cost and convenience. These factors were important to me because I had a low income at the time and needed credentials in a relatively short period. After the course I was able to successfully gain employment teaching English in Taiwan. Once I started teaching I do I wish there was more in the course about classroom management! I teach first grade and would’ve loved to have some additional guidance before I started

My partner and I used the International TEFL Academy Alumni corner to help narrow our job search but once we decided on Taiwan, we used more local institutions to facilitate specific job search actions. The alumni networks were also helpful.

ITA was very helpful in all facets of my TEFL journey that has taken my to Taiwan. This includes my TEFL certification course and then I had a little help with my resume and cover letter. It was nice to know I had a safety net there and someone to help when I needed it.

I just finished my course at ITEFL Academy and found it very efficient and i am confident that i will be a successful teacher abroad. There course is easy to follow, provides excellent materials and tools to and has staff and Alumni available to help and answer any questions. I just started my job search and am very pleased and comfortable with the process. They have more than sufficient information to get started in the right direction as well as continued support long after we have graduated and are teaching.

What I liked most about TEFL's online course was the textbook that they provided and the subsequent information. Everything was concise and each week built upon the last and my knowledge and skills improved in ways that I didn't even realize. They don't bother bogging you down with unnecessary details but get the concepts across in an effective and efficient way. The course tasks were challenging but manageable if you took the time to read that week's chapter thoroughly. The amount of resources that they provide is A LOT and you have an adviser to guide you through registration as well as a professor who is available to answer emails promptly and be online once a week for a discussion thread. You can tell that TEFL cares about the success of their students and I value their mission statement that what we are doing here is valuable and necessary work for current and future generations.

I truly appreciate all the work behind the scenes that goes into making a course like this one. I had a wonderful experience with International TEFL Academy from start to finish! I would recommend anybody looking to take an online TEFL certification course to look into this particular program. I was able to get plenty of practical experience and feel confident in my ability to teach English as a foreign language.

The International TEFL Academy provides a fast-paced 10 week online course that is filled with relevant content pertaining to teaching strategies, while covering the importance of creating teaching activities and lesson plans that engage the students and help them succeed in mastering the English language. I also look forward to the next steps of completing my Practicum, which includes a total of 20 hours in class observation, tutoring, and teaching (at least 6 hours). I am now one step closer to achieving my dream of living abroad.

When I first started exploring this process, I was very unsure on if I was going to do this. After speaking at length with my advisor, who made plenty of time for me and answered all of my questions, I really decided to go through with it. I found the course itself excellent and got a lot of practice doing TEFL lesson plans, which is one of the difficult steps as a teacher. The chapters were easy and interesting to read, with a ton of videos to help support the topics that you were reading about. I highly recommend this course to anyone who has an interest in teaching abroad. Even if undecided, it does not hurt to make the call and get more info, I did, and I have not looked back. Off to Europe in July to teach!

I have truly enjoyed my time at the International TEFL Academy. The instructor was very encouraging, and the opportunity to interact through a web forum with other student as refreshing. The material covered is especially enlightening and fundamental for anybody who wants to become a teacher.

Ever since traveling to Tokyo, I knew I had to live there, but didn't know how. I recently graduated from college and was in a rut as to what I wanted to do. i discovered the TEFL Academy and knew this was my ticket in to be able to live in Tokyo, while still sustaining myself. The course was straightforward and easy to comprehend. I would recommend this to anyone looking to change their life or travel!

Everything about this course was wonderful, from enrolling, to the course, and my instructor and I learned a lot of information that I will carry with me to my ESL job. As a teacher in my real life, the course helped me to recap and review information that I may not have use for a while. At times, I did feel overwhelmed, but my instructor was there to keep me on the right track.

It was hard at times. If I could do anything differently I would probably have toned it down a bit. I think I created a lot of undue stress because of my eagerness to excel. I definitely realize now that I could have got through the course quite well without having to go the length that I did. With that said there is a part of me that is happy that I did since it probably will be easier to tone my perfectionism down that to have to up my game. The course was very thorough and I am so glad that I chose ITA. I really got a lot out of my experience even though it was challenging at the time that is exactly what I need to prepare. My instructor was fantastic and made me feel very supported the whole way. She was also very efficient in her ability to answer all my questions. The material was extremely informative and I found it quite interesting. There were things that I would not have ever considered about teaching English had I not taken this course. Overall it has been an amazing experience and I have zero regrets!~

It's a very good course, i have learned a lot. They are an excellent and professional company. Looking forward to have more courses with them. The material and the teachers were of great help and educational. Made me more confident in myself and inspired me to be a better teacher and professional.

I have years of experience teaching abroad; both business English and oral English to intermediate-to-advanced level students....but I wish I could have taken this course years ago - it would have saved me SO much misery! Seriously, this course taught me things I thought I already knew, things I didn't know, and things I'm GLAD to know. The instructor (Wayne Walker) was so knowledgeable; it was like .. everything I questioned, he covered (or had an answer for in his personal feedback to my submissions). He gave me little pointers to tweak things to make them more efficient for the students. I am so happy I took this course...best thing I could have done to continue my career of ESL.

In searching for a meaningful career to provide others with a useful education I really recommend this school. They think of everything and are there with you every step of the way. It is not just a school with instructors and administration is it s community of educators.

I have not taught English abroad yet. I am just beginning the journey. I am about to complete the online course and will then work on my practicum. After this, I will look to find an assignment abroad.

I decided upon a career change, having worked in big corporate for many years. I went into this course thinking it would be the easiest thing in world. I'm a native English speaker after all, and have the benefit of both a British and American education. However it was one of the most intensive things I've ever undertaken. Not only was the material relevant and interesting, but also rather challenging. I learnt a lot about being a teacher and a few things about myself. I feel more equipped to go out and teach now. With regards to the people at ITA, I was supported and never once felt like I was left to twist in the wind. My pre-enrollment advisor was responsive and helpful, as was my course instructor, who was also patient, motivating and engaged.

Even though I already have 10 years of experience teaching English in China, I really learned a lot from this on-line course. It gave me the knowledge to understand the reasons behind what worked in the classroom and what didn't.

Overall, I thought it was a great program. At times, the instructions for the coursework was a little vague but after awhile you figure it out. I haven't started my job search yet so I can't really speak to that. Also, you'll have to do your own search for places to do your Practicum. I think it would be better if International TEFL set that up for the students. I've had a hard time finding a place.
