Get TEFL Certified & Teach English in Spain!

It is harder for me to get a job in the USA due to my cerebral palsy and education being expensive. Therefore, being a halfway decent native speaker of English, I decided to travel the world and teach English. Now, I’m living in the old Roman capital of Spain—Mérida. Every morning I leave my apartment, I have an old Roman aqueduct greeting me at the door—you can’t beat that?

In general I thought the content was good, and I felt well prepared, or at least as well prepared as you can be after doing a short, non-degree program. Since my course, I have been teaching in Spain with the NALCAP program, and have also done private tutoring and teaching online. I have also taught in some local private academies.

After completing the course, I ended up appying to a program in Spain that supported me well in the process of getting starting as an English assistant here in Madrid. I was already a teacher before I took the course so some material was redundant.

I found ITA enticing because of it's reputation and course load. I have heard of alot of different TEFL certificates that weren't as recognized as ITA which is why I decided to go this route. I also like how user friendly and modern the program is. Most importantly, it helped me achieve my goal of teaching in Spain.

For getting my job in Spain, the 1 on 1 sessions and the job search guidance manual helped me the most. To enhance the sessions i would probably do video calls instead of voice calls so it can feel more "real" for lack of a better word. I think the manual was really good maybe a way to improve it is to add a paragraph from an alumni who moved there to teach english, or links to blog posts.

I was just telling my friend about how I made the decision to do my TEFL certification through ITA because of how caring, invested, responsive, and knowledgeable the staff is! I had a call with Joe before I made the final decision to enroll and he answered all of my questions and I had a following career placement phone call with another advisor helping me and answering questions for me when I was applying to teaching positions in Spain. I currently work as a flight attendant after working at a high school in Madrid for a year, and I feel excited and supported with the knowledge that I have ITA’s staff available and happy to assist me when I decide to dive back into the extremely fulfilling career and lifestyle of teaching English as a foreign language. My instructor was so kind and helpful, and being able to earn a certification like this with just a high school diploma is amazing to me! This course has helped me become prepared to teach abroad. The assignments allowed for practical theory to be put into place and the end practicum allows for the rubber to meet the road. It seems that there are things in place to help the transition to go abroad to teach as well with the job search staff.

I haven't traveled abroad yet but from the looks of its a really great experience and I can't wait to learn about the many different cultures with have in our world today. I will begin my journey in Medellin Colombia because I have many family members there and I want to experience that lifestyle that Medellin provides.

I am looking forward to going abroad and learning about new people and cultures. I can not wait to start the next part of my journey! This course has taught me valuable lessons about ways to teach, mark and even how to sort students into groups.

This course provided me with so much more than simply a TEFL certification. I learned so much about my personal teaching style and ways I can change up my classroom here in the States. This course provides so much information and opportunities that you do not want to miss out. They are with you every step of the way!

International TEFL Academy has an excellent online TEFL certification course. It's not the cheapest TEFL certification course but it's absolutely worth it! I'd recommend it to anyone who'd like to teach English abroad.

I recommend this course to all those seeking an ESL or TESOL certification. It's easy, quick, and painless. The lesson planning material is by far the most valuable resource out of all their many various resources. The only thing is the grammar module is not included in the course; by its being optional, a lot of teachers can get their certifications without ever having learned the essential grammar concepts included and necessary to teach ESL and TESOL.

The TEFL course was challenging in the best way possible. I learned so many new things and left the course feeling confident in my abilities as a teacher. I would definitely suggest this course to anyone.

This is not actually the first TEFL course I have taken -- but it's certainly the best! I found this after being extremely dissatisfied with the previous course I had taken. I talked to Matt B., over the phone, and by text and he was very encouraging and realistic about what it would mean to teach abroad. I think his advice is what really pushed me to just go for it! I am so glad I did, I can't believe I made it through the course. I recently graduated from University with an English degree, and this certification is going to take me on my next steps towards becoming the teacher I have always wanted to be. Overall, I think this is a great course!! I am so happy I did it and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store!

ITA is the best school I have ever attended in my life. I am a person who loves school, hates online programs. I took the online course. I still didn't like it, but I certainly didn't hate it. In a perfect world, I would have been sitting in a classroom, at the Chicago campus, but since I am a full time, working, parent and husband, that wasn't feasible for me. Being able to learn how to be a teacher on my own time was invaluable. And this is the thing; ITA offers so many resources to their students! I'm not even talking about the lifetime job search assistance, I'm talking about the abundant live lectures that are offered for you to gain information on just about anything you can want to know about TESOL/TEFL! It's amazing. I can't remember how many times I stopped what I was doing to tell my wife how much I loved this school and how they seem to truly care about my success. I started my TESOL program at my traditional university where I got my B.S. That program was three times as long, due to the semester system, and was much more focused on theory than practice. Theory has its place, but I highly prefer ITA's style of teaching. I have learned more in the past 90 days with ITA than I did in the semester and a half that I was in the TESOL program at CSU. If you are wanting to be an ESL teacher, whether you are a seasoned teacher or a total newbie like me, this is the school for you.

I was very nervous when I began the course about if I would be prepared by the end of it. The course did an excellent job of covering all aspects of being an EFL/ESL teacher including a lesson on culture and culture shock. I really enjoyed the material and found a lot of value in the content it provided. I feel very prepared to travel abroad and teach English thanks to the course and the job search assistance team.

The TEFL course with ITA was definitely worth every penny. Not only was the content of the course interesting, but the assignments were all created so that we can practice making real lesson plans and activities for future students. I will be starting my practicum soon so I can't speak on that just yet, but I'm looking forward to putting all I've learned to use. Thanks to this course, I can now teach English anywhere in the world and I can't wait to begin my journey.

This course really helped me to better shape myself as a teacher. It was more challenging than expected. A lot of things happened to me but the course instructor was exceptional and always helped me. In overall the customer service and attention offered by the TEFL academy was great. I will be referring a couple of friends whom are interested in teaching abroad!!
