My time in Medellin
July 10, 2026by: Dimitris Angius - GreeceMy time in Medellin was incredible from beginning to end. Before starting, I had signed up for the program hoping for a challenging experience that would allow me to achieve both personal and academic development. Looking back at my time in the country, I was able to achieve both. My internship (that focused on assessing the social impacts of green hydrogen projects) helped me narrow down a career path to pursue after I complete my studies, and the people I met and the experiences I have had while in the country will be among my most cherished memories. Intern Colombia also provided continuous support from beginning to end. In my first few months, they made sure I was properly situated in the city and familiarised with the internship. They also continuously offered events, so I'd have opportunities to go out and explore not just Medellin, but other small towns throughout Antioquia as well. These trips and events were some of the most fun I had during my time here.
8 weeks in Bogotá
August 30, 2025by: Aminah Shaikh - United StatesI really enjoyed studying abroad in Colombia. I am a non-native Spanish speaker and of an Indian background so the culture was very different than what I am used too. I wanted to study abroad in order to develop my Spanish skills as it will be very useful in the US and for my future career. Additionally, South America is much less traveled too than other destinations like Europe which I believe I will get the opportunity to visit at other points in my life. I learned a lot through putting myself in a completely new environment. I am an education major so I learned how education is tackled abroad for early childhood and I feel as though I have grown academically, professionally, socially, and personally. I also got to experience navigating challenges on my own and being more independent. I love how different cities in Colombia are very unique and culturally different. I did some domestic traveling which was amazing. I visited Medellin, San Andres, Cartagena, and Santa Marta which I highly recommend. I also loved all the excursions Intern Colombia took us on as it allowed me to really learn about Colombian history, music, food, biodiversity, and much more.

Intern colombia
August 14, 2025by: Abigail Rees - EnglandI did a 6 month internship in Medellin and it was an incredible experience. Not only did I have plenty of flexibility in terms of the internships (when I wanted to change it was more than easy to do so) but the support provided by Matt and Naty was such a comfort, and any issue I had at any point in my time in Medellin was always resolved by them such as visa problems accomodation and so on; they were an excellent support system which was necessary especially in the beginning when I was just finding my feet in a country thousands of miles away from home ! I’d recommend doing an internship through Intern Colombia to anyone considering working on the country, they really made my experience what it was !
Greatest Experience of my Life!
August 09, 2025by: emmah kabbah - United StatesIntern Colombia gave me the opportunity to explore my professional interests, Colombian culture, and meet people from around the world. I'm extremely grateful for my experience to be a part of this program and for the support Matthew, Paula, and everyone else provided behind the scenes to make all the programming possible. I developed my Spanish proficiency through immersion and courses offered by the program, learned salsa through the classes, and visited many monumental towns nearby. I highly recommend this program; you won't regret it!
Amazing environment!
August 08, 2025by: Evelyn Calle - United StatesMy time in Colombia exposed me to a new culture that will stick with me forever. From the incredible food to the stunning scenic views, everything made Colombia feel like a home away from home. The flexibility I had as an intern was greatly appreciated, as it allowed me to work while also having the opportunity to explore. I will surely miss Colombia.
Landed me my dream internship!!!!
August 03, 2025by: Naj AB - Saudi ArabiaOne of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I originally planned to do one of their in-person internships, but due to some unexpected circumstances, I switched to the virtual option, and it turned out to be the best decision I could’ve made. From the beginning, Matthew was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. Every opportunity he shared with me aligned closely with my goals, and the one I ultimately accepted ended up being exactly the kind of role, company, and work environment I had envisioned. The Spanish classes included in the program were also a game changer. They introduced me to an amazing teacher who has helped me make more progress than I ever expected. I genuinely can’t recommend this program enough. Don’t think twice, it’s 100% worth it. Trusting them took so much pressure off my shoulders, and it’s honestly made life feel lighter. More than anything, see it as an investment in yourself. They don’t just place you anywhere, they carefully match you with respected companies and NGOs that fit your goals and values!
Embracing Growth and Culture in Colombia
February 08, 2025by: Fabiola Thomas - HaitiMy internship with Inter Colombia in Bogotá was transformative. I worked on peacebuilding and reconciliation, engaged with communities, and gained insights into human rights and conflict resolution. The staff was amazing, and Matthew ensured we felt supported while encouraging us to explore Colombia’s culture. This experience strengthened my research and cross-cultural skills, reaffirming my passion for international law and human rights.

Six-week internship
August 25, 2024by: NOA DURET - NetherlandsI recently completed a six-week internship in Medellín, Colombia, and it was an incredibly enriching experience. The city's vibrant culture, combined with the warm and welcoming people I met through Intern Colombia, made every moment enjoyable and memorable. From exploring the colorful neighborhoods to participating in local festivals, the experience was both professionally and personally rewarding. The connections I made and the skills I gained have left a lasting impact, and I would do it again without hesitation!
Summer 2023 Internship in Bogotá, Colombia
April 05, 2024by: Veronica Reyes - United StatesIntern Colombia with Matthew as our program coordinator in Bogotá was a great experience! Staying in Colombia for 2.5 months was a transformative experience as I immersed myself in a new culture, made lasting friendships, and even learned Spanish! While the housing situation differs for each student, my group from UCLA lived in CityU. I believe its central location and student life played a large part in feeling safe during my stay (so try to be placed there ;). My advice when matching with internships is to really know what you want and convey your wants clearly to Matthew. Learn as much as you can about the different companies and what your role will be to make an informed decision. Matthew is very generous, culturally knowledgeable, and gave us the best well-rounded experience. However, managing multiple students is a hefty responsibility. I will add that they could use some help or improvement in understanding student needs and treating student problems as their own. I definitely recommend the program!!
One-of-a-kind experience opening me up to the world of international development!
August 03, 2023by: Jena Manning - United StatesI had only studied international development issues in class at university, but I luckily I got my first opportunity to really work with those issues in-field during my time working with Sistema B, an ESG-focused nonprofit that Intern Colombia matched me with. From this experience, I was able to really determine what I liked and didn't like, and it honestly pushed me forward to the path that I'm embarking on now— participating in the project management of financial inclusion initiatives to support smallholder farmers, women, and other underrepresented groups in Latin America! Intern Colombia, I'd say, was my trigger to really start a career in international development.
Great internship programs and cultural experiences!
July 25, 2023by: Owen Yang - United StatesI've really enjoyed my entire experience here, both during my work and outside it as well. I've had so many cultural experiences that I couldn't get if I hadn't come here and they've definitely broadened my horizons. I feel like my perspective on things such as poverty has become more worldly after getting to experience it firsthand. I've also had a lot of fun at work, getting to learn some new skills (such as learning about how their blockchain works and learning to write code/communicate with other people about it in a professional environment) and also getting to meet a lot of super nice people. I've really enjoyed the culture especially here in Medellín where the people are often more laid back and super friendly! That warmness is something I'll be taking with me wherever I go because it really goes a long way to helping me feel welcome here. The one thing I would complain about is how unresponsive and disorganized the administration of Intern Colombia can be - getting a response out of Matthew could take several repeated emails and weeks. He didn't even send us the information packet with a lot of important info until the day before we arrived here. He has also provided the interns with inaccurate or incomplete information several times. Luckily, Natalia in Medellín is an excellent on-field program coordinator, so she became our main point of contact for anything Intern Colombia-related.
Thank you Intern Colombia!
August 04, 2022by: Won-Jae Chang - South KoreaI really loved the program and thought that it was smoothly run. I don't think I could've gotten this experience elsewhere. It was a very unique internship that I ever thought that I would complete. Also, I really liked the engagement from the Intern Colombia team, because they constantly checked in on me and helped me throughout the selection process. Very much enjoyed my experience-- it was with BritCham Colombia, which is a very cool organization to work for. Also got to improve my Spanish a bit. Thank you Intern Colombia!
Amazing experience!
July 01, 2022by: Kimberly Hidalgo - SpainMy time with Intern Colombia was one I will never forget as I have acquired skills and knowledge that will guide my career and personal life to success. This opportunity added value to my career as it helped me find the job that I wish to pursue in my field, and I felt like I made a positive impact as well. Everyone at Intern Colombia is so friendly and willing to help, I am grateful for my time with them! I recommend to anyone who is seeking to expand their knowledge of Colombia and engage with the culture. I only wish I would have gone in person instead of doing it virtually!
An unforgettable learning experience!
September 01, 2021by: Maria Denisa Tudorache - United StatesNot only did I become a stronger researcher, but I also learned how to look at migrant issues through a variety of different perspectives. My research emphasizes the importance of treating migrants as not only victims or criminals, but instead as active figures that can positively shape their own future and that of their host nations. I gained intercultural communication skills and how to adapt to a culturally different work environment, all while strengthening and refining my spanish language skills. My qualitative and quantitative research skills vastly improved and I had the opportunity to learn directly from experts. They pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me believe in my skills as a researcher. My experience with FIP was unforgettable and enriching, and I hope to one day visit Colombia to meet their wonderful team in person.
A great learning experience!
August 24, 2021by: Olivia Nelli - United StatesDespite being able to go abroad this summer, Intern Colombia helped me have a great summer! They listened to what I am interested in and matched me perfectly to a non-profit organization in Medellín. I was able to learn so much about fundraising and the operations of an internationally-based non-profit. I can't wait to continue to use the skills I gained this summer throughout my career.
Amazing experience!
May 08, 2021by: Valentina Villela - ColombiaI was at the end of completing my studies and wanted to really get an internship to improve my resume but was a bit conflicted due to the pandemic. I inquired Intern Colombia after I saw their website and how they had helped people like me get an internship. From the beginning to end of this process they have exceeded my expectations and allowed me to have an unforgettable and valuable experience with this internship. They don't just focus on you getting an internship, but make sure you are enjoying it and feeling comfortable with it, which I found to be very valuable. I wasn't expecting much from a virtual internship, but after this experience I see I was wrong since I have gained so much knowledge and til this day I am grateful for reaching out to Intern Colombia. I recommend to anyone looking to gain a valuable experience and gain connections!
Best opportunity out there during a global pandemic
February 05, 2021by: Michael Deras - United StatesMy name is Mike from Texas and I had the honor to do a virtual internship through Intern Colombia. My initial plans were to travel to Colombia for the summer of 2020, however, due to the pandemic, I was not able to. However, I am so glad they offered virtual internships. I was assigned to Biz Latin Hub for a social media marketing internship. I really enjoyed it! It wasn't the same as being in person at the office, but I learned a lot about business in Latin America and I was able to get a better idea of what I want to do when I graduate from my International Business Program. The people at Intern Colombia would check in on me occasionally and I love how even if I was at home I was still offered cultural immersion opportunities such as virtual salsa dancing classes and language exchange opportunities. I did the language exchange one and I really enjoyed meeting people from all over the world online. I hope to be able to go for an in person internship for the upcoming summer all depending on the situation of the pandemic. I would definitely recommend this program for those who want or need an internship experience abroad for college credit or even a personal growth experience during these rough times.
Awesome internship placement and abroad experience!
May 21, 2020by: Angelica Toro - CanadaI had an amazing experience with Intern Colombia. From the beginning, they put a lot of thought and effort into finding an internship that really suited me. They were always super helpful with any questions or doubts I had. My marketing internship really helped develop my skills and it gave me very valuable experience. During my time in Bogotá, Intern Colombia were always in contact with me and the other interns, organizing social events that would get us out and about exploring the city. I couldn't have asked for a better experience; I highly recommend Intern Colombia if you are thinking about doing an internship in Colombia. I would also highly recommend Colombia if you are thinking about doing an internship abroad. It's a beautiful country, rich in culture and with delicious food.
Great experience and excellent company to work with!
May 15, 2020by: Nina Dhingra - United StatesI had planned on going to Colombia over the summer, but due to the guidelines around Covid-19 I wasn't able to travel. Intern Colombia helped me adapt my plans and start a remote internship. During the ever-changing Covid-19 situation, they did a great job of communicating consistently and keeping me updated with their plans. They matched me with an awesome organization that's helping me get the exact type of work experience I was looking for and have been checking in to make sure everything is going well. Even though it's remote, they have been organizing virtual cultural events to build community and ensure the experience is as great as it can be. Definitely recommend!
Excellent internship & cultural immersion opportunity
April 11, 2020by: Shandon Williams - United KingdomI spent 12 weeks in Bogotá from January to April 2018 completing an internship, and it is an experience I have recommended to everybody I know looking for this type of opportunity. Intern Colombia did an amazing job of making sure my stay was as memorable as possible, on top of providing a great internship. I was met at the airport and provided with some useful materials to make my transition into Colombian life much easier: a SIM card, maps of the city and other useful information. The team were always available whenever I needed help with anything, no matter how small, and regularly checked in to make sure that I wasn't having any problems. Further, Intern Colombia provided so many great cultural immersion opportunities to allow me to really get to know the city and the culture of the country, and to open my eyes to so many different things which I hadn't experienced before. I was given a tour of some of the main parts of Bogotá, including some of the main museums; I was taken to watch a football match live in a stadium, something I really wanted to do but don't think I would have been brave enough to do alone; and early on in my stay I was taken on a fruit tour in Paloquemao market, where I was introduced to so many of the most common fruits & foods in Colombia, the majority of which I had never seen before, let alone tasted. On top of all of this, Intern Colombia provided an amazing internship for me which allowed me to learn a lot and improve my workplace skills while also drastically improving my Spanish. I worked at Mi Águila, and was warmly welcomed to the team and made to feel at home from the start. It was a role which challenged me to really push myself and deliver results. A key part of my role was phoning taxi drivers and speaking to them about a new technology that the company had designed to see how their experience with it was. This was extremely difficult as the connection often wasn't great and Bogotá taxi drivers aren't the clearest of speakers, but it was so fulfilling to see myself improving in these situations and my Spanish came on leaps and bounds because of this. I really recommend the Intern Colombia experience to anybody who wants to gain some great work experience while also experiencing life in Colombia!

Great adventure
March 26, 2020by: Ilona Klarzynska - PolandThanks to the InternColombia I had an opportunity to find internship in Colombia. It was my the most incredible time. Amazing adventures and friendships for life. From the very beginning, also during internship and at the end I could get support and help at all time. This was very important because I finished my work during difficult time of coronavirus. InternColombia is very professional organization. I recommend it to everyone who dreams of meeting Colombian culture and at the same time gains work experience.
Bogotá
March 23, 2020by: Shane Rockett - United StatesI had a great time in Bogotá with Intern Colombia. My job placement was excellent and I learned a lot of valuable skills, Spanish included. The social life in Bogotá is also fantastic. Colombia is a very welcoming country and in my stay of a month and a half there was always something fun to do.
An amazing intern experience in Colombia
March 20, 2020by: Andrew Barnett - United StatesIn the summer of 2018, I joined Intern Colombia and worked with the NGO, Fundación para la Reconciliación for 10 weeks. While there, I worked with local communities in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, and I completed all the work in Spanish. This is a great opportunity if you want practice speaking and working in Spanish. Alternatively, Intern Colombia has many programs that do not require knowledge of Spanish. While completing the internship, I stayed in a house with around 40 other people with single and double rooms. The people staying in the house were a mix of other Intern Colombia interns and exchange students studying in Bogotá from around Latin America. There are so many new people to meet both in the house and at work. It does help if you can speak Spanish but it's certainly not necessary for talking with the people in the house. I stayed in one of the single rooms, so if you ever tire of talking with the others, you can have some privacy in your room. There are also plenty of activities you can do from Bogotá like go to the museo del oro (gold museum), and Intern Colombia will also organize some meet-ups during your stay. In terms of the city itself, Bogotá was fairly safe. However, remember to exercise caution when wandering around at night and beware of pickpockets like in any city. You can also take the opportunity to travel around Latin America at the end of your internship such as to neighboring Peru or you can travel to Medellin to see the birthplace of Pablo Escobar. I highly recommend this program, and you should use Intern Colombia to find an internship in Colombia. As an added bonus, they are cheaper than the alternatives too.
10 weeks abroad
October 30, 2019by: Jade Vendivel - United StatesI was introduced to Intern Colombia (I.C.) through my university's study abroad program and working with them easily became my most rewarding collegiate experience. During my 10 week study abroad in Bogotá, I.C. opened the door for professional opportunities with Fundación Tiempo de Juego, provided incredible cultural immersions that displayed the diverse history of not only Bogotá but Colombia as a whole, and gave me the best international family I could have ever asked for. Through all of my fears and hesitations, the I.C. team was there every step of the way to reassure me and provide support in a completely foreign environment from housing to navigation to life lessons. I.C. did all they could to help me flourish as a global citizen.
Amazing experience, highly recommend
September 05, 2019by: Kimika Padilla - United StatesIntern Colombia helped me secure an internship with a national nonprofit that works with communities to build homes for families in extreme poverty, and improve public spaces such as schools, sports fields, and outdoor gardens. As an urban planning major, I was excited about the opportunity to work alongside social workers and civil engineers in the communities. I also worked closely with the Commercial Lead in the office. Having studied Spanish for two years in University and during study abroad in Mexico, it was also very rewarding to work and converse in Spanish (still learning!). Intern Colombia also found me housing with other local students, and offered summer programming including a long weekend at a pool house in Anapoima with other international interns! Don't be a tourist, be a traveler. This is an amazing opportunity to form genuine connections and gain work experience abroad.
TECHO
August 23, 2019by: jorge mata ochoa - United StatesTECHO is an NGO that strives to eradicate poverty throughout Latin America. It is a wonderful organization that helps those in need buy constructing homes and planning fundraiser events to raise money and awareness for their goals. Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to work with others interns from around the world and part-take in many projects. I went to a communa in Bogotá and built a house with other NGO's which was a truly wonderful experience.
Amazing experience
August 13, 2019by: Angela Peña Logreira - ColombiaI'm from Bogotá, Colombia and currently I'm studying design in France. I did a six weeks internship with Intern Colombia and It was a great opportunity for me. I gain experience in my field and the team is very supportive. I passed an incredible time not only doing my internship but also with the staff and the other interns. You have the possibility to make new friends from all over the world and have a great time while staying in Colombia. The activities that they organized are really cool!!!! All I need to say is thank you
Amazing experience!
August 10, 2019by: Lars Hinrichs - GermanyI did a four month internship with this program in Bogotá. First of all the organisation of the stay was very straight forward and easy. You'll be picked up at the airport and will be provided with an apartment. People in Colombia are very open-hearted and very friendly and help you in all questions. The apartment I lived in was a shared flat with other international persons. Not all of them were doing an internship but the group was quite a good mix. Also some Colombians lived in the apartment, so that the usual spoken language was Spanish. Intern Colombia offers a lot of weekend trips and social events with other interns, so that you can be sure you have the best time in Colombia and that you'll also see a lot things of the country and the culture. I personally did my internship at a technology start-up where I worked more or less in the Research& Development area, which was really nice and gave me the opportunity to be part in different teams and projects. I highly recommend to organise a stay with InternColombia if you're planning to do an international internship in Colombia!
Very supportive staff and program
January 13, 2019by: Andrew Doerflinger - United StatesI just completed 3 months interning in Bogota through Intern Colombia and had a very positive experience. Matthew and the staff at Intern Colombia were very supportive. I initially started interning with a company that didn't end up being a good fit for me. After 2 weeks, I realized that I was not enjoying working there. I spoke with Matthew and within a week and a half, we had found me another internship with a tech startup doing sales and data analysis, which was a much better fit for me. I was very impressed with how understanding and supportive Matthew was in helping to find me a new internship so quickly. I have only positive things to say about Intern Colombia - beyond helping me find a new internship on extremely short notice, they also organized a day trip to the nearby town of Villa de Leyva and also gave me a tour of Bogota when I first arrived. Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend Intern Colombia to anyone looking to intern abroad in South America.
Incredible Colombia
August 23, 2018by: Alex Gatenby - United KingdomI've just finished 2 months in Bogotá at a Foundation working with children and I am extremely grateful to Intern Colombia that they helped me find this amazing position. I'd always wanted to come to Colombia and going through Intern Colombia made everything so much easier. Didn't stay in their accommodation so can't comment on that but everything else was perfect. I felt very well supported before and during my stay, and everyone involved in the company is very welcoming and friendly. Lots of social events organised too. My 2 months were incredible, and helped to confirm in my mind what I want to do as a career when I'm older. I would recommend using Intern Colombia to anyone as any internship you do would be invaluable and rewarding. Go to Colombia for longer than 2 months though if possible, it's an amazing country with so much to do and see.
Fun internship
August 22, 2018by: Sean Campbell - United KingdomI completed an 8 week internship with an NGO that works on human rights and educating for peace. I worked in an interesting and fast paced environment, with varied responsibilities. I was able to gain an interesting insight into the inner workings of an NGO, skills which are useful for my professional development and highly transferable into future work. My internship was based in Bogota, which is a wonderful city with a vibrant night life. There is plenty of cool touristy stuff to do and opportunities to travel over the weekends to nearby cities or some of the other interesting cities in Colombia. Especially, seeing as colombia has the most national holidays in the world. Another advantage about this internship was the accommodation. The housing was perfect for me. There were students living there as well as other interns, therefore the social life was class. It also enabled me to improve my Spanish and meet people from all over. Whilst the accommodation itself is quite basic, I would still say the housing was definitely one of the best aspects of the internship due to the social life there. The process in obtaining and the levels of support after obtaining the internship from Intern Colombia was of the highest quality. They looked after me making sure I was happy throughout and also provided a good induction and orientation to Colombian life. They also offered opportunities to interact and meet with other interns doing fun and cultural things. Overall, I would highly recommend Intern Colombia to others.
Just great!
August 08, 2018by: Ben O - NetherlandsI've done a 10 weeks Finance internship at a start-up in Bogota. The company was really cool and I learned a lot over there. Moreover, from the moment I arrived at the airport, Intern Colombia has been amazing. Their service (before and during the internship) was really good and they organized weekly social events for all the interns which where nice. I strongly recommend Intern Colombia and Bogota if you are looking for an internship abroad and Colombia is just great!
Valuable experience
August 04, 2018by: Madeleine Barrow - United KingdomI was placed with an NGO specialising in exactly what I was looking for. The internship was great! Accommodation was basic but sociable. Colombia as a country is an incredible place both to travel and gain experience.
Magical Colombia
July 22, 2018by: AF - ItalyI’ve done a five months internship with Intern Colombia working in the sales and marketing department of start-up company in Bogotá. From the beginning everything worked out very well including the accommodation solution. This internship allowed me to gain plenty of experience in the business field, which is something I was really looking forward to. Bogotá is a very nice city with plenty of things to do and places to visit. The staff of Intern Colombia also organizes lots of social events to bring the interns together so really it is impossible to get bored. I strongly recommend this experience to everyone.

Perfectly organized internship and great experience in Colombia!
May 04, 2018by: Lukas - GermanyIn order to change my career path and to gain both work and cultural experience, I was searching for an internship for 4 months as software programmer in Colombia. As I did not speak any Spanish I thought it would be a hard time for me finding a suitable opportunity on my own. So I decided to get some help and with Intern Colombia I found a very reliable and transparent organization that has partners and opportunities in many different career fields. The whole process from the application over finding a matching company and pricing and the job interview is outlined very well beforehand and the communication via Skype was always well organized and friendly. For me it was a very positive experience! When I arrived here they picked me up from the airport, showed me the apartment etc. and while my stay here Intern Colombia organized social events on a regular basis, where I met other interns, which is also a very nice opportunity to meet new people and to exchange experiences. My impression of the company Mi Águila, where I did my internship, was very positive. The atmosphere was always very nice and friendly there. Most important for me was that the project I had there was very challenging and had nothing to do with the classic internship tasks. So if you hope to find a real learning opportunity, Intern Colombia provided me exactly with this kind of internship, which is not self-evident. The country Colombia is very different from its general reputation in Europe, the people are very friendly and Intern Colombia will provide you with a lot of general safety tips, dos and dont's for your stay. As the people in Colombia, especially in Bogotá, speak very clear and slow Spanish this is the perfect situation to improve your Spanish, or even to learn it from scratch. I just can highly recommend everybody, to contact Intern Colombia and start organizing your stay here as soon as possible!
Intern Colombia experience with an NGO
May 02, 2018by: Cristina P - United KingdomI would highly recommend going through Intern Colombia to do an internship in Colombia. I was able to enjoy 3 great months working for an NGO, where I had the opportunity to experience working in various areas of the organization, working with great people and gain a valuable insight into future job possibilities. Bogotá acted as a fantastic base to work and live, I was able to get to know the city well and the accommodation was in a good location which easily facilitated travel to work as well as socializing. Colombia is an exciting country where the spoken Spanish is beautiful and I couldn't recommend it more, especially through Intern Colombia- who made the process so much easier.
Challenging but rewarding
December 28, 2017by: Danyka Leclair - CanadaI can definitely say that my experience working in Colombia was the most challenging, but rewarding experience of my life. It wasn't that I wasn't accustomed to traveling, before Colombia I visited Ecuador, Peru, Spain and many other countries... but I never worked abroad before. This is very different because not only do you need to navigate the cultural differences, but you have to fully embrace them to give your 100% at work. Even though the job was challenging, it offered the perfect opportunity to acquire skills I still had to work on: conflict resolutions, problem-solving, communication (specifically in Spanish), and initiative at work. I worked so hard and learned so much that I really feel like I left a small part of me at that foundation, and that the foundation left its mark on me. The country itself is amazing: the various ecosystems and landscapes, the warm welcomes I received from Colombians, the food, the culture... If you want both a challenge and an opportunity to escape and discover a wonderful country, choose Intern Colombia!

A summer in Colombia
October 07, 2017by: George Leonard - United KingdomAfter spending a year living abroad in Spain and Italy, with visits to plenty of other countries, I decided I wanted to spend my summer differently needing to quench a new found thirst I had for the unknown. After extensive research online I finally settled on Intern Colombia and I can firmly say they did not disappoint. The team had everything sorted in a very quick space of time and were thoroughly supportive throughout my 3 months in Bogotá. I was offered an internship teaching English in a foundation which was everything I hoped it would be. I developed a connection with my colleagues and students and everyone I came across in Bogotá, thanks to it being such a warm and hospitable culture. Being back in the UK now I feel like a changed person with a wealth of knowledge which assists me greatly in my studies. Not only that, but I hope to take up a career path abroad, quite possibly in Colombia, and I only have Intern Colombia to thank. I highly recommend everyone and anyone to do an Internship with Intern Colombia. It will be a life changing experience and something you certainly will not regret.
Great experience
September 30, 2017by: Ellie - United KingdomI had a great experience with Intern Colombia - moving to a new country can be daunting but with the support from staff and organisation of visas, accommodation etc it was really simple. One of the best aspects of the group for me was the regular events provided throughout my time in Bogota - not only the initial city tour and fruit tour but also the opportunity for weekend trips and nights out which gave the chance to meet people in similar situations doing internships with other companies. I would definitely recommend anyone thinking of interning in Colombia to go for it, it's an amazing country and the people are so welcoming and always keen to help you have a good time. I made some great friends, explored a lot of interesting places, and overall had an unforgettable experience
Awesome internship experience!
September 28, 2017by: Milana Abidor - ColombiaInternColombia has been an incredible experience. They helped me find an internship abroad within my desired career field, web design as well as allowed me to meet people from around the world and go to different organized social events. I made great friends through the program and travelled around Colombia with them so you never really feel alone while in a foreign country. It truly has been an amazing experience and I would hope that anyone wishing to come to Colombia goes for it because it's 100% worth it!
The best internship company in Colombia!
September 19, 2017by: Tom Shipley - EnglandI was already living in Colombia when I was told about Intern Colombia and had previously looked at other internship companies to do a placement, and the honest truth is that they had nothing on what Intern Colombia was able to offer; from support on housing, social activities, to being more financially competitive. With their help I was able to find a company that suited what I was looking for and has now helped me secure a new international job back in the UK. If you're considering an internship abroad put Colombia at the top of your list and if you're looking for a company which will help you have the time of your life pick Intern Colombia!
Unforgettable
September 13, 2017by: Houda - FranceAmazing experience in a professional point of view but also in a personal one. There is a lot to do here. Colombia is a developing country that offers so many opportunities. Every thing is super : so well welcoming people, colorful streets and houses, delicious food, unreal landscapes... to name but a few. Plus the way of living is really affordable especially for students. I recommend this country for business or/and vacations. Houda
Internship
August 21, 2017by: Luke - IrelandVery well organised programme. There was a lot of help and effort put in pre departure by interncolombia which made settling in a new country a lot easier and any questions/concerns I had were always addressed very quickly. There were always social events organised with other interns and the placements met all the requirements I wanted to gain from the experience. Would highly recommend participating in the Internship programme.
Fantastic kickstart to a career change!
August 21, 2017by: Kirsty - South KoreaI undertook an internship with Intern Colombia from February to June in human rights and prevention of human trafficking. It was an unforgettable experience and has undoubtedly helped my career path transitioning to this field. Intern Colombia made the whole process incredibly smooth and there's no way I would have found an organisation to work with that fit the kind of work I was looking for so perfectly without their help; especially with my dreadful Spanish skills! The application was straightforward, and they were supportive throughout my time in Colombia. The price is extremely reasonable for the service they provide, including being met at the airport and tours upon arrival in Bogota and arranging social events when I was back in the capital. I opted for a placement in a small town far from Intern Colombia's headquarters but it's my understanding for those based in the big city there were regular outings and events which is a huge difference for anyone apprehensive about moving to a new country alone. Highly recommend!
Best time of my life with Intern Colombia
June 13, 2017by: Kattaree Chaowanich - Hawaii (USA)If anyone has any doubt of going to Colombia, I want you to step back away from the media and keep your mind open. Colombia is drastically changing from what it used to be in the 80s & 90s. With Intern Colombia, I was able to have my dream internship and the best roommates that will forever be my friends for life. The team made me feel very safe throughout the program. Above that, they have events to make you feel included and meet up with the rest of the team. The team will walk you through everything such as to take you to your internship on your first day from your home to helping you grocery shopping and even taking tours around the city (my favorite was the fruit tour), etc. I could not have asked for a better experience with Intern Colombia. I have learned so much from my internship in my career field and personal development. My time in Colombia has been the best experience of my life by far and I cannot thank you Intern Colombia enough. Mahalo from Hawaii, Kattaree
