Such an amazing well structured program

I had a very positive experience with Intern Abroad HQ. From the beginning, the team was responsive and helpful, guiding me through the application process step by step. They made everything clear and easy to understand, especially when it came to preparing for the internship abroad. During my placement, in Bali I felt supported and well-informed. The local team and coordinators were approachable and available whenever I had questions or needed assistance. The experience itself was meaningful and helped me grow both personally and professionally. Not to forget the internship was very helpful, full of joy, and inspiring people, that I learned so much from. I’m very grateful and happy that I was part of this amazing program, would definitely recommend it to every student that wants to get out of their comfort zone but somehow scared, you won’t be feeling scared because the team will take really good care of you throughout your whole time during your internship!! Sending you love ❤️❤️

I really enjoyed working in a supportive environment and learning how a hospitality management company operates behind the scenes. This internship helped me grow professionally by applying my accounting knowledge in real situations, and personally by building my confidence and communication skills.

I enjoyed everything.

Solo traveling to Bali significantly boosted my confidence, independence

I was involved in a variety of tasks that contributed to both the planning & execution of the weddings. I assisted with the online sales on Shopify by creating product boost tags to help upsell wedding-related products and services. I participated in site visits to explore potential new venues and gained valuable insight into venue assessment and client suitability. On the marketing front, I created informational blog content covering topics such as Bali as a wedding destination, venue information, outfit & styling inspiration & family-friendly activities for children, enhancing the couples journey through the planning process. I had the opportunity to visit 5 weddings where I shadowed key roles, including the Day Coordinator, Guest Relations and Stylist. As a Day Coordinator, I was responsible for ensuring smooth communication between the team and cross-checking key ceremony details, such as the presence of rings & vows. I had the opportunity to liaise with other event staff such as the function manager, event curator and serve as a point of contact and information source for both guests and vendors. Whilst shadowing the Guest Relations role, my responsibilities included checking in guests, escorting them to designated areas and keeping them informed throughout the event. As a Stylist, I worked closely with the floristry team to prepare and arrange key floral elements, including bouquets & centrepieces as well as setting up the ceremony area, garden party and reception, contributing to the overall aesthetic of each wedding. Through my involvement in various roles, I developed a wide range of professional skills, including people management, customer service, cross-cultural communication, time management, problem-solving and the ability to stay calm under pressure. I also learnt the importance of asking questions to deepen my understanding. Solo traveling to Bali significantly boosted my confidence, independence and ability to navigate challenges. Being in a new country with a different culture significantly strengthened my interpersonal communication skills, as I regularly interacted with locals and other interns from around the world, all of which have positively influenced both my personal growth and professional development. As a visual learner, this experience allowed me to absorb knowledge in a hands-on environment, while also meeting new people & industry professionals from around the world. I gained insights and advice from them that I wouldn't have had access to otherwise.

I enjoyed seeing the culture of Bali firsthand.

I enjoyed seeing the culture of Bali firsthand. It really opened up my worldview and helped me gain perspective on what life is like for others outside of the U.S. I enjoyed meeting people from all over the world and seeing the differences in lifestyles, work ethic, and overall values. The internship helped me learn more about marketing in the real estate industry, and different skills and strategies that can be used to reach greater audiences and do so effectively. I learned how the marketing team operated and how people in a professional business setting communicate. This will help me with my personal and professional development because I can see how to reach a desired audience when in a business, and the skills that you need to make it happen. I also think I have developed personally much more living in a completely different country, and having to be very outgoing and meeting people often.

Bali was beautiful and everyone was very friendly there

About my internship, the thing I enjoyed the most is the destination I chose. Bali was beautiful and everyone was very friendly there. I made so many wonderful memories and had plenty of unforgettable experiences such as swimming with sea turtles, hiking mountains, and seeing so many picturesque places like temples, waterfalls, and beaches. This internship also contributed towards my personal and professional development as, it helped me gain a sense of how to respectfully and successfully interact with other people who are quite different than myself or what I was used to. I also developed the ability to communicate more effectively and in turn, became more confident.

My internship was empowering

My internship was empowering as I got to witness strong female leadership and foster a deeper appreciation for sustainability. Recognising the global significance of food, I was motivated to learn from diverse backgrounds and from generational knowledge. My passion for innovation and sustainable approaches drives me to seek a career aligned with these principles. Engaging with companies driving change in this field excites me, fuels my creativity, and enriches my understanding of diverse cultures.

My internship made me grow a lot

My internship made me grow a lot and develop amazing skills as I was expected to deliver professional results. I got to design a textile from scratch, learned to sew, attended fashion mentoring, fittings, meetings, and even a fashion show. I grew so much as a person in these last two months that I can’t even imagine saying no to this opportunity. Besides my personal growth, I got to build great networks too.

I was always amazed at how neat and professional the workers seemed

I had always been fascinated with the Hospitality industry in films or when I had traveled, I was always amazed at how neat and professional the workers seemed. Especially the Bartenders, I thought it so cool to be able to make amazing cocktails and the stories that come along with them. I do plan on expanding my knowledge further on Bartending in the future.

I am extremely grateful to my coworkers and supervisors, I believe they truly made my experience all that more meaningful

I am extremely grateful to my coworkers and supervisors, I believe they truly made my experience all that more meaningful. We were all able to build a beautiful relationship both inside and outside the office and it made it easier to collaborate on projects, share new ideas, ask tough questions, etc. This internship contributed to both my personal and professional development in the sense that as it was an experiential learning experience I was able to gain a worldwide perspective through the work I was doing.

I enjoyed meeting the other interns

I enjoyed meeting the other interns because that gave me the opportunity to travel around Bali and other islands with trustworthy and friendly people while also balancing my time and work I put into the internship. This internship has definitely contributed positively to my personal and professional development as I have learned practical skills in my career field and I am now confident enough to show that I am passionate about working in accounting and finance.

Meeting other interns in different fields

What I enjoyed the most was meeting other interns in different fields from different countries at the accommodation and during excursions. Also, meeting clients at the internship placement and learning more about the wants and needs in the industry.

I had the time of my life

I had the time of my life and I will never forget my internship in Bali. I met amazing people and had a great time while doing a compulsory internship for my university! What I really liked about Intern Abroad HQ is that they helped us with everything from the visa to insurance and accommodation. The only negative point is the electricity I had to pay for which no one advised us about. Apart from that I had a great summer!

Safe and affordable

Intern Abroad HQ gave me the opportunity to see the world in a safe and affordable way! I couldn't imagine my internship without this company, not only was the experience amazing but so was the support. I am so grateful to have the pleasure to use this company and I hope anyone who wants to educate abroad takes the chance to do so.

I feel that I have grown a lot personally

September 01, 2022by: Elizabeth Lo

I feel that I have grown a lot personally in terms of being more independent, culturally aware and being more open to new ideas and proactive at everything I do. It was also an extremely eye-opening experience to me, as I was so close to the sustainability issues that are often discussed in lecture rooms but rarely experienced first-hand like I have in Bali. Seeing with my own eyes and experiencing these problems, realizing that sustainability issues are impacting real human lives and communities instead of reading it from the media or hearing about them from another person really puts things in perspective, and gives me the motivation to do something about it.

Rewarding feel!

My placement was perfect for me - I am leaving here feeling like the best version of myself! I learned so much about myself and how I want my life to look in the future. It was nice to be traveling and volunteering, instead of just traveling on holiday. It gives the trip such a more rewarding feel!
