Doing an internship at a Wildlife Park provides an up close and personal introduction to the diversity of life, not only locally but on the planet. The parks that Institute for Global Studies works with have an excellent reputation for animal care and rehabilitation facilities on site. These parks bring together diverse wildlife for viewing that may otherwise not be accessible to the public. This program is an opportunity to work on a daily basis with these unique creatures and encourage public appreciation for them. The intern will gain experience in all aspects of animal care and conservation, including animal feeding, food preparation, grooming, maintenance of live food colonies, and animal record keeping. The program exposes the intern to the level of care, maintenance, and dedication required to support a wildlife park of this type and its inhabitants. There is no veterinary component to this internship.
