Business Internships (Event Planning)
Program Overview
Do you enjoy a fast-paced environment and the chance to meet people from different backgrounds? Expect just these on this internship abroad with IGS!
As an event planner, you’ll help coordinate every aspect of meetings, conventions, and ceremonies. You’ll collaborate with the staff to pick event sites, plan the technical aspects, arrange catering, handle risk management, and establish backup plans.
IGS interns have had a nice mix of office and field work to attend events. Often, you might take on the same responsibilities as paid staff. You can liken event planning to directing a stage performance; there is no lack of drama in getting so many moving parts to function together. Your responsibilities mostly involve:
Social media
Online research
Corporate outreach
Field visits
Event setup/takedown
Phone duties
Database management
