Food Rescue in Barcelona

Work with local volunteer teams in Barcelona on this project, which addresses the contradicting issues of food waste and food shortage. Did you know that 262,000 tons of food are wasted annually in Catalonia? Food waste occurs throughout the food industry, with 40% wasted in production, 5% in distribution, 40% in homes, and 15% in the restaurant sector. This is where you can make a difference! Volunteer at a network of centers collecting excess food from local restaurants, supermarkets, and cafes.
