Incredible art school in an indescribably beautiful place
November 17, 2019by: Laura Kennedy - United StatesProgram: IFSA: Burren College of Art PartnershipStudying at the Burren College of Art was one of the best decisions I could have made for my personal growth and future as an artist and social worker. The school is situated on the coast of Ireland in a tiny village with an incredibly warm and welcoming local community. Everything about the school encourages creativity, resourcefulness and reflection. The tutorial system allows for individual guidance from professional artists and faculty, continuous research and discourse are required throughout the semester, the campus is small, close-knit and supportive and the environment surrounding the college is endlessly inspiring. There are no words that do justice to the raw beauty, power and wildness of the Burren landscape or the generosity of its people. I grew enormously as an artist, spent invaluable time reflecting and researching, expanded my practice, became a member of the Ballyvaughan Ukulele Orchestra (and thus the community) and rediscovered my connection to nature. I highly recommend this program, particularly for self-directed artists looking for the ideal environment for inspiration, quiet and creativity.
