The Institute for Field Research (IFR) creates study abroad experiences for students who want to get out of the classroom and into the action. Our field schools take you across the globe to dig, hike, sail, explore, and discover alongside researchers working on real archaeological, environmental, and paleontological projects. With small teams and hands-on training, you will not just see the world, you will help uncover it. From jungles and coastlines to mountains and small island communities, IFR programs blend cultural immersion, professional skill-building, and the kind of adventure you talk about for years.
