The Biggest Risk I've Taken That Was Totally Worth It.
September 19, 2013by: Caroline JamesProgram: IES Abroad Madrid Summer - Language & Cultural Studies
My experience in Madrid has been absolutely amazing and I'm so glad I pushed myself to study abroad. Not only I'm learning Spain with great new friends and more confidence as a Spanish speaker, but also with a greater sense of self and experience that will positively impact me for the rest of my life. I think everyone should study abroad if they are able and cultural immersion with a homestay is definitely the way to go.

This was by far was the most amazing experience of my life. I have learned so much not only about the Spanish culture but also about myself. IES Abroad did an excellent job of integrating students into the culture.

Before I even matriculated into my university, I knew that I wanted to study abroad at some point during my college career. For me, it was a chance to experience a different kind of schooling and to explore a new place. I learned a lot from classes, but I feel like I gained even more from being able to interact with natives and visit various places around Madrid and around Spain. I choose to study abroad in Spain so that I could have a chance to use the Spanish that I’ve been learning over the years.
