Wonderful summer
My first weekend in Dublin I took the Dart (train) from Dublin to Bray and went hiking on a mountain trail that overlooked the ocean. That expedition was my first interaction with the Irish countryside and it was beautiful. Ireland is a wonderful place. Living in Dublin allowed me all the comforts of a city, but the countryside is only a 30-45 minute inexpensive ride away. I wanted to study acting in a foreign but English-speaking country. I had already graduated college, but when I found out I could attend the program whether or not I was still in college, I applied in a heartbeat. I liked that my housing and travel insurance would be taken care of me by IES and that I wouldn't have to worry about knowing where a good place to live would be (having never left the States before). I lived in an apartment with two other IES Abroad students. Our apartment was really nice and we were only a 25 minute walk from The Gaiety School of Acting.
