Amazing

Honestly, I can't choose just one memorable experience. Being in the most amazing city and meeting some extraordinary people made my entire experience memorable. I chose my program because I always knew I wanted to study in Paris. After looking through the study abroad programs my school had to offer IES just seemed like the right fit. It was the most affordable, and included the type of academics I was looking for. I lived in a home stay, in an apartment with one older woman. The apartment was nice and spacious. I lived in the 7th arrondissement, only a few minutes from Les Invalides and the Invalides metro station.
Great Program for American Students

My most memorable experience was bonding with the students in my French class during the language immersion week. The reason I chose the program was that I wanted to study in Paris, and a friend had done IES and recommended it to me. I lived in an IES apartment, and I didn't love it. It was close to school but far from central Paris, and it was a single, so I lived alone and was very lonely. If I had a do-over, I would choose the option of doing a home stay with a roommate.
An amazing Parisian Experience

Probably the program trips that I went on, like when I went to Champagne, France to do Champagne tasting for my Marketing class. Or when I got to take a baking and cake decorating class at a cute French bakery near my school. The memories were endless on this trip! I chose my program because I am an International Business major and I wanted something that would give me major related classes. I also chose my program because it seemed that they were really helpful in immersing you in the French culture. I lived in a home stay with another student and with a retired couple in the seventeenth arrondissement. I had my own bedroom, bathroom, and balcony. And everything in the house was extremely nice, and my host parents were super helpful with the French language and with ways to get around the city. It took me only thirty to forty minutes to get home on the Metro and everything in the city was extremely accessible through public transportation.

I think the best way to learn is through experience, and I don't think there's a better experience than being fully immersed in a different culture. In business, global awareness and cross-cultural communications are becoming increasingly important, so as a business student I thought an international program would help me develop not only personally, but also professionally.

I chose IES because of the ease and support they provided as well as the programs offered. The programs offered by IES provided the right balance of academic rigor, cultural immersion, and independence. Because the program information, including course description, syllabus, and logistics were all online or in pamphlets, I was able to realize my plans much earlier than my actual departure date. They were extremely helpful in answering any questions as well as supportive in the visa process.
