These 4 weeks have been some of if not the best 4 weeks of my life

I can wholeheartedly say these 4 weeks have been some of if not the best 4 weeks of my life. Throughout the entire experience, I have felt extremely welcome and the villagers have all made such an effort to make it feel like home, the women who cook us our amazing lunches throughout the week are wonderful individuals. The guys around base (especially Bull and Pau) never fail to cheer you up and their ability to get me involved in touch rugby was phenomenal. Amelia and Ima are two of the warmest and most wonderful human beings you will ever meet, they make such a conscious effort to make you feel loved throughout. Abi is potentially the hardest-working person I have ever met she is an integral part of the operation here in Silana and has made it a significantly easier ride as you always have her to rely on throughout the entire experience. The group adhesion within the volunteers was great and I have definitely met some friends for life. In regards to the community development programme I have always felt a purpose and that I am achieving something. In the first week of my stay we led 'Kids club' in which we helped with leading lessons on ocean conservation. A definite highlight of the trip was being put with a Fijian family, mine being the pastor of the village and his wife and children, they made the experience wonderful and allowed me to really experience Fiji properly. I would like to thank the people of Silana along with Abi, Michelle and the other volunteers for making this whole trip as great as it was and will hope to visit again someday.

The most life-changing experience

I have had the best six weeks of my life with GVI Nepal. I have learnt so much about Nepali culture, eaten amazing food and had the privilege of working with so so many amazing women and children in the community of Pokhara. Teaching English and healthcare has been so rewarding and I have learnt so much during the projects. The various projects that GVI work with are all run so so amazingly and it is just incredible how they help so many different people in different areas. I will cherish the moments I spent in Nepal forever. Life at the home stay is also so much fun, I had the warmest welcome and the staff made sure that everything is okay - I felt 100% safe at all times. I have also made some amazing friends with the other volunteers! All in all, if anyone is considering volunteering with GVI Nepal, BOOK IT! You will not regret it and will have the most life changing experience! Just a quick shoutout to Tara, Sita and Roshani who I spent most of my time with. You're all incredible and so inspiring - you made my trip extra special. Dhanyavada GVI Nepal

Trip of a lifetime with GVI in Nepal

I found this to be a trip of a lifetime. The GVI team took excellent care of the volunteers. From the tours and stories of the local history to spending quality time after hours to check and see if all is well. I felt like I helped to make a positive difference to the women and children in our project work. I loved the way our midday meals were cooked by the small local family business. When I saw what work GVI has done here in Nepal in the past (including construction), I feel so proud to have been a small part of this fabulous organization. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
