Program Overview

Global Greentalist is an international youth volunteer program that combines online learning with hands-on action in Costa Rica.

The journey begins with four virtual preparation sessions focused on leadership, sustainability, and environmental education, equipping participants before they travel. Volunteers then spend five weeks in Costa Rica taking part in community-based projects, environmental conservation initiatives, and an experiential trekking phase.

The program offers young people a meaningful way to learn, volunteer, and grow while working alongside rural and Indigenous communities.

Program Highlights

Real-world experience: contribute to conservation efforts and community initiatives in national parks and Indigenous territories.

How to apply?

To apply, simply complete the form on our website. After submission, our team will contact you for an interview and guide you step by step through the next stages of the selection process.

Who can join?

Anyone 18 years or older, from any country, can join Global Greentalist.

Become a volunteer if you are 18–24 years old and want to learn, collaborate, and take part in hands-on environmental and community projects. Become a Team Leader if you are 25 years or older and have experience in leadership, volunteering, education, or community work, and wish to support and guide the group.

We welcome motivated individuals ready to contribute.

What is Global Greentalist and what makes it unique?

Global Greentalist is a 5-week international volunteer program in Costa Rica that combines a virtual learning phase with hands-on community and environmental projects. Participants develop leadership skills, engage in cultural exchange, and create real impact in rural and Indigenous communities, while becoming part of a global network of young changemakers.

What kind of projects will I be involved in?

Participants take part in a variety of meaningful, hands-on projects such as environmental conservation, basic construction, and educational workshops in rural and Indigenous communities. Projects are designed to respond to real community needs while allowing volunteers to develop teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills in real-world settings. 

Each experience is practical, immersive, and purpose-driven.
