High School Study Abroad in Australia with Greenheart Travel
Greenheart Travel’s High School Abroad Australia program allows students to live with a local host family and attend a local high school in South Australia, one of the safest, most underrated regions of this country-continent! Whether your preference is to join a surfing club, learn all the intricacies of Australian Footy, or be academically challenged, you’ll learn to speak some Australian (much more than g’day, mate!) and even try a bit of Vegemite (don’t smell it first, though). Is the “Land Down Under” calling your name? Let’s see... -You want to see as much of this giant country as possible—there are optional add-on trips to places like the Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, or Kangaroo Island. -You have specific interests like tourism, child studies, technology, and more, and you want the opportunity to choose courses. -You want a culturally different experience, but you still want to speak English abroad. -You’re happy to live in a small, tight-knit community: our placements are outside of Adelaide, the region’s capital.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I be placed in a city like Sydney?
We place students exclusively in South Australia. It is very unlikely you will be placed in a major city. The majority of our host families live in small to medium-sized towns outside of major cities, thus, it is important that you be open-minded.
When should I apply for this study program in Australia?
We recommend that you apply a minimum of 6 months prior to your desired semester.
The sooner you can apply the better, as acceptance, gathering documents, and other preparations can take a long time. Read more about why applying early is a good idea.
Our final deadlines for fall start dates are March 15 and September 15 for spring departures.
Will someone pick me up at the airport?
Yes! Our in-country partner staff and/or your host family will be eagerly waiting for you when you arrive!
