About Great Help

The Great Help Volunteer Program is a community-based volunteering initiative in Madagascar designed to support local development in education, health, and social welfare while promoting cultural exchange between international volunteers and local communities.

Our Program Objectives are to:
Improve access to quality education for children and youth
Support local schools, teachers, and community centers
Assist with healthcare and awareness activities in rural and urban areas
Encourage cultural exchange and mutual understanding
Contribute to sustainable community development projects

Depending on their skills and interests, volunteers may participate in:
Teaching English or basic subjects in schools
Supporting students with homework and tutoring
Organizing educational games and activities
Assisting in local clinics or health campaigns
Helping with hygiene and health awareness education
Supporting basic community health outreach
Participating in local development projects
Helping organize social and cultural activities
Supporting NGOs and community initiatives

How much does accommodation cost?

For the Saint Georges Clinic, located in Ambondromany and Mampikony, a one-month stay costs €1,000, including room and board:                     

A standard room costs €10

per day per volunteer (room cleaning

included). See the attached photo of

the room.

Transportation from the airport to

Mampikony (400 km): €25 per

volunteer if there are 6 volunteers

(car rental). 

Regarding the Fitsinjo and Acacia educational programs, each program costs €420

How long is the assignment for volunteers who wish to work in a clinic

Length of stay for volunteers wishing to serve in the clinical field: 1 month In the field of education: 2 months  

Working Hours

Monday through Friday, 6 hours per day

What is the age requirement for volunteers, and what languages are use

Volunteers must be

between the ages of 18 and 65. A

person who speaks

French or English.
