Join a professional veterinary internship working with wildlife in Malawi! Due to an increase in deforestation and the struggles between man and wildlife, many of Malawi's wild animals are losing their natural habitats and are often found injured or in severe distress. This project offers a safe haven for these animals, assisting in their recovery and rehabilitation and, wherever possible, releasing them back into the wild. Those that cannot be released find a permanent home in large natural enclosures where they can roam freely. Interns will get to assist with a wide variety of tasks, ranging from assisting with health checks and emergency surgeries to caring for orphaned vervet monkeys. Interns will also be taking part in non-veterinary tasks such as food preparation. In 2017, this center rescued 89 different animals, performed 190 veterinary procedures and had 286 animals under rehabilitation!
