Wonderful volunteering experience in Laos
It was a great experience volunteering in Laos. The local coordinators are nice and helpful, they you up from airport, provide well organized orientation and culture introduction, also assist to book transportation to Vientiane (around 50 mins drive) or Vang Vieng (around 2.5-3 hours drive) if you like. In terms of the volunteer program itself, it's quite easy and not too tough. Cycling to different schools in the morning and afternoon, one hour teaching respectively. You can choose which grade you would like to teach and the kids there will melt your heart. They keep the teaching diary so that volunteers can refer to and understand what the kids have learned. Accommodation was simply and clean, food was nice. The only drawback is that no hot water in the bathroom, but if you go in the hot season, it should not be a problem. ;)
