Travel to the beautiful island of Bali and work directly with an impoverished community. You will be assisting in the development of local villages through various work projects. Volunteers have the chance to pick from a selection of projects such as construction work and health care education. This is an amazing project to volunteer in because you will witness the transformation of communities as your work progresses. As a rural and secluded community, Ubud has difficulty accessing assistance and support in developing their neighborhoods. From teaching English to young children, to construction work in the local villages, to educating about health and hygiene, this project aims to help Ubud build a strong infrastructure and improve their education and healthcare systems. This project is divided into several categories, all designed to provide security to the members of this impoverished community.

Interaction with the kids filled my heart and soul with joy. I am absolutely thrilled to had been given this opportunity to share my enthusiasm and love for people with the Balinese future. I'm looking forward to my next trip, hoping to make that trip soon.

It is such a great way to experience a new culture and country and get to know people who are local. It is joyful to be able to give to another community. The children I worked with were so gorgeous - the children in the special needs school and also the girls community group. I benefited personally far more than anything I could give them I think. I didn’t want to leave. Thank you GoEco for facilitating this experience for me!

It was lovely to be able to give back to the people of Bali in volunteering our time in the teaching and construction programme. We found it to be both very enjoyable but immensely satisfying.

I had an amazing experience meeting different volunteers from around the world and meeting Balinese people. Everyone had a different story but we all shared the same interest of volunteering on the beautiful island of Bali. The program accommodations were phenomenal. I loved the cultural immersion aspect of the project. If you really want to, it is easy to familiarize yourself with local customs and the local language. I made great friendships with the local people there and the amount I learned just by conversing with them was incredible.

I loved that the program was run by Balinese people and I was able to get a good feel of the culture and lifestyle of Bali. I also liked that the coordinators were always willing to help and even if they may not always be able to help you they would try their hardest and do everything they could for you.

Overall tremendous experience!

Overall tremendous experience!! The staff was so supportive and kind - always smiling! My villa was absolutely charming - although I did miss air conditioning :) The children we worked with were so warm and welcoming as were all the Balinese people. Would highly recommend this trip to all ages.

One of the best decisions I´ve made

One of the best decisions I´ve made. The local team was very supportive and friendly. The volunteering work was amazing, the fact of working with the children of Bali, was one of the most moving experiences. I think that in the teaching process I learned more about them and the way they and the balinese people see life. This was the best traveling way to know the local customs, food, and spiritual traditions of Bali.

Great educational program for teachers

If you are interested in becoming a teacher then this is the project for you. You have the choice of assisting in a kindergarten or primary school depending on the area you want to focus on. Work involves preparing classes and then working with local teachers to implement them. The second project you can work on is in construction. Here you can assist in building a kindergarten in Bali and leaving your mark there. The living conditions are excellent and the food has a wide variety. I would recommend this project to anyone looking at being a teacher or wanting to assist in making a difference in Bali. Date volunteered: May 2016 Recommended time spent here: 1 week maybe 2 if you want to do multiple projects Living conditions: Dormitory style bunk beds, hot showers WiFi: Not bad Vegetarian friendly: Yes Additional Notes: Thank you to Go Eco for allowing us to experience this incredible volunteer project in Bali. Our opinion is, as always, our own.
