My time with Go Palestine was short but amazing. I gained a valuable insight into the daily life of Palestinians and met so many amazing people. Visiting the refugee camps was an experience I won't forget. At Go Palestine you feel supported and encouraged to make the most out of your experience there.

Not like anywhere else in the world.

I came here because I felt a strong calling to connect with Palestinian culture and people and I found myself integrating here very quickly. People here really value generosity and have invited me to celebrations, weddings, meals and into their houses for tea on a daily basis. I feel completely safe here and would recommend anybody who is interested in the true culture of the Holy Land to take a trip here and experience the hospitality and warmth of the people.

Volunteering in Hebron with refugees

Hi, I’m Shim, and I’m from the UK. I study Spanish and Arabic, and I’m here teaching English to Palestinians. My daily schedule was fantastic. Every day was well-balanced, with English lessons, visits to refugee camps, and city tours, which were amazing. I also had the opportunity to cook traditional Palestinian dishes, which was really fun. Hebron is such a vibrant city, filled with cafes and restaurants. I had the chance to explore the old city, visit the Ibrahim Mosque, and even tour a shoe factory and a CIA factory each experience was unique and insightful. I’ve felt completely safe here in Palestine, whether in Jerusalem, Bethlehem, or Hebron. People are living their lives just like anywhere else, and it’s a welcoming, peaceful environment. I highly recommend coming to Hebron and volunteering with Go Palestine. The experience is unforgettable, from exploring the old city to learning about Palestinian culture, food, and language. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with locals and understand their stories

It’s great to hear that you felt safe and welcomed, and your recommendation will surely inspire others to experience Palestine for themselves :)
