In addition to extractions, you may encounter complex cases, as patients in these economically disadvantaged areas often seek dental help only when their conditions are severe. This provides invaluable learning opportunities.
Tailored for dental students, dental professionals, pre-dental students, and even high school students, our internships adhere to ADEA Guidelines for Ethical Academic and Industry Interactions. Pre-dental students shadow qualified dentists in East Africa, gaining hands-on experience and insight into dentistry within a developing world context.
Our program offers comprehensive support, including pre-trip guidance, continuous in-country assistance, and secure, catered accommodations. You’ll also have the chance to immerse yourself in local culture and engage in impactful volunteer activities.

Yes, slots are limited and fill up rapidly. We maintain a controlled number of students in each department to uphold the quality of our clinical placements. As spaces fill up fast, we encourage you to book as soon as possible to secure your spot (especially if you plan to travel as a group).
Yes, we assist with visas. If you require assistance with flights, please inform us and we'll provide guidance and support to facilitate the process. We normally handle this during pre-trip virtual sessions with our team.
Participants typically spend 5-7 hours in the hospital, with downtime in the afternoons for activities such as volunteering in a local school, language lessons, global health tutorials, and sightseeing. Weekends are free for excursions, safaris, or relaxation, though participants may choose to work in the hospital during this time.
