Best summer of my life – I actually miss school now
May 16, 2026by: Emma Johanson - United KingdomI'm 17 and was nervous about spending 4 weeks in China without my parents. But honestly, it was incredible. My homestay family was so welcoming – my host mum packed me lunch every day. Mandarin classes were actually fun, not boring. We learned phrases we could use right away. Weekends we visited the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. I made friends from France, Germany, and Brazil. Came home speaking basic Mandarin and feeling way more confident. Already saving up to go back for a gap year. Highly recommend.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child need to know Mandarin before joining the summer camp?
No, not at all. The summer camp is designed for beginners as well as students with some prior Chinese knowledge. Our morning Mandarin classes are tailored to each student's level, and no previous experience is required. The focus is on practical, real-life conversation skills.
How is my child's safety ensured while in China?
Safety is our top priority. All homestay families are carefully vetted, and campus dormitories are secure. Our dedicated GAC coordinators provide 24/7 supervision and support. We also arrange airport pickup, orientation, and regular check-ins. Parents receive updates and can reach our team anytime.
What is included in the all-inclusive package?
Everything. The package covers Mandarin classes, accommodation (homestay or dorm), all meals, cultural workshops, weekend excursions, airport pickup, visa support, local SIM card, transportation for activities, and 24/7 on-site assistance.
