IT internship in Shenzhen exceeded all expectations

As a software engineering graduate from Poland, I wanted hands-on AI experience. GAC placed me with a tech startup in Shenzhen — China's Silicon Valley. I worked on real machine learning projects alongside experienced developers. The office culture was fast-paced and collaborative. My Mandarin was zero at the start, but weekly lessons helped me get by. The apartment was modern, and the 24/7 support team was always there. Within two months of returning home, I received two job offers — both mentioned my China experience as a key differentiator. Highly recommend for any IT student.

i found a treasure

Interning in Shanghai was life-changing. GAC placed me with a marketing startup where I got real responsibility from day one. The team handled everything — visa, housing, support. Came back with job offers. Russia is also one of the world's competitor market for job seekers and newly graduated. Definitely helped with getting many job offers cause many Russian employers prefer the graduates with experience from the world's rapidly growing country. Thanks to Go Abroad China for all the support along the journey.

I feel to do it again in 2027

i got a software development internship in a tech company in Shenzhen, at first i was a bit nervous but the team was really welcoming and i didn't feel like i am miles away from my office. Mria the setting with me there taught me how things are rapidly growing in China and how tech works and we explored few other startups as well. GAC sorted my visa and a decent apartment near the office. Weekends I explored the city and met up with other interns. Came back with solid experience and a better understanding of AI applications + made few experienced friends too

Chinese manufacturers aren't who you see

i gave it this title because we all know and worked somehow with Chinese people whether it's business or something else. i was originally placed in manufacturing company in Beijing, Chaoyang which is basically a Central Business District in there. i think i liked how the city looked like and support from the company as well, like Go Abroad China prepared some city tours and Chinese learning opportunities too alongside placing me in a host company. my company was a Chinese manufacturer and i worked there as IT Support, i saw many practical experiences and how they work in such fast growing time. everyone there is being friendly and leadership mode on haha so no BOSS and you will never feel like you are in a strange country.

Future of software is China

software engineering internship in Shenzhen was exactly the career catalyst I needed. I was integrated into an AI startup's core development team, working on machine learning models and real product features. The technical mentorship was outstanding, and the fast-paced environment pushed my coding skills further than any university project. GAC handled all the complex visa and housing logistics seamlessly.

Go Abroad China Intership No.1

My internship experience in China was incredibly enriching, as I gained firsthand exposure to the intricacies of international accounting standards and financial practices. The opportunity to work with professionals from diverse backgrounds not only expanded my knowledge of Chinese financial regulations but also enhanced my cross-cultural communication skills.I was impressed by how hands-on the internship was, with real-world projects that allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios in a fast-paced environment.Being part of a team that handled financial reporting, tax compliance, and auditing gave me a deep understanding of the complex financial landscape in China. The mentorship I received was invaluable – my supervisor took the time to guide me through the financial processes, offering insight into the industry and how businesses operate within China.Living and working in China added another layer of learning, as I adapted to a new culture while navigating the financial world of a rapidly growing economy.Although the workload could be intense at times, it pushed me to develop strong time management and problem-solving skills, which I know will serve me well in my future career. One of the most rewarding aspects of this internship was learning how the global financial systems are interconnected, especially in a market as dynamic and fast-moving as China.Overall, the internship was a fantastic experience that not only helped me grow professionally but also personally, by broadening my perspective on global finance and the role of China in the world economy.

I loved the nightlife!

Go Abroad China arranged for me to do an finance internship in Beijing. Living and working in the capital city of China was an unforgettable experience, not least because of the buzzing night scene!! I don’t mind admitting that initially, I was nervous about immersing myself in the culture, even though I had a BA in Chinese Studies. But as soon as I met the other summer internees, I knew I had no need to worry….. We had an amazing time experiencing the different bars and nightclubs in the Wudaokou area, and the friends I made will be my friends for life (sorry, you guys are stuck with me!). I strongly recommend a Go Abroad China finance internship to anyone who is considering a career in this field. As well as making some great friends, you'll have an experience like no other, and when you get home, you'll have an outstanding resume to show potential employers, there was a full time chance for me with the internship company offered after my graduation so i would definitely come back to China in 1 year after i finish my BA degree. Thank you to Go Abroad China for such this amazing offer again!

My internship led to paid work and a healthier lifestyle!

If you think an internship can’t lead to paid work, think again. I am living proof that it can. My summer accounting internship, which was arranged by Go Abroad China, lead to a paid accounting internship, and I’m hoping to stay here at this company long-term. During my time here, I have gained invaluable insight into the global and international financial markets and seen how the changes that are currently taking place in China’s financial markets impact the Chinese economy. I have prospered from more than a professional perspective. With a keen interest in health and well-being, I attended Taiji Quan classes organized by Go Abroad China, which really helped me to relax as well as improve my understanding of the language and the culture in Dalian.

My internship experience with GAC

Overall I enjoyed my experience with GAC. I was pleased with the amount of knowledge I learned and the new experiences I went through during my internship as a financial analyst at a finance company which GAC found on my behalf. The internship made me realize how fast things move in the finance industry and I feel it has prepared me well for the transition from university to the work force. The diversity of the work I completed made me realize my capabilities and had me further develop my skillet, and consolidated my interest in the industry. The networking opportunities to work alongside partners and analysts from different backgrounds will no doubt accelerate my career. In the future I would like to undertake another internship before I officially commence my professional career. GAC also organised activities throughout my time in China, and provided valuable assistance when required.

Interning in China

My name is Tanya, a new graduate from Australia. My proficiency of Chinese before doing the program was almost non-existent. I chose to do the full internship package in Beijing. My did internship for 3 month with Go Abroad China Internship in China Program. My internship was the typical financial jobs you would expect –prepare financial reports, provide financial advice, business analysis, etc. I learnt lots of practice working experience which I have to say. My Chinese definitely improved and I became more independent as a result of living by myself in a foreign country. I would recommend the internship program to every of my classmates and friends, and you are guaranteed what the internship will be like. GAC was satisfactory. I was able to quickly come to China and experience a different culture and learn a lot. The staff in Beijing were pleasant enough during the application process and were quick to reply. The GAC representative in Beijing city was welcoming, friendly, and tried her best to help with all my problems. She definitely made a big difference and enriched my stay in Beijing.

My Business Internship in Shanghai

The best thing about my internship in Shanghai is that I got job roles that I felt allowed me to learn a lot about Business and the way the Chinese people run their businesses compared to other places. My supervisor at the company always assigned my tasks; she was the person I reported to everyday. She was also the one who interviewed me – I had an initial talk with Go Abroad China, then a rather formal interview with the internship company. The company I was working at provided consulting services and advise to many Chinese businesses. Mainly I was working with a team that did a lot of research, analysis and preparing presentations to the customer companies. It was really great, my internship lasted 3 months and every month I got a stipend from the company to use for transport and lunch meals. I paid for Go Abroad China’s full package deal, which included having somebody meet me at the airport when I landed in Shanghai, they helped me apply for a visa, they arranged my housing in an apartment shared with other people and a couple of times a month there would be activities organized actually for everyone to enjoy. It was a lot of money spend to go to China and have all this arranged for me but it is still worth it because I had always wanted to go.

Live and work with Chinese people

Go Abroad China Internship Program was perfect for me as graduate student. I know it is very important for me since it will color my CV if I have abroad working experience. Also I knew I wanted something related to my education, my expected career, something well organized and easy. Going to one of the open days really helped me take the first step to actually quitting my job and going for it, then once the ball was rolling there was loads of support and information. You get your own webpage with everything you need on it. The top reason I chose Go Abroad China was the program itself—A business internship in Beijing, and the experience I got there was ideal. This company provides value-added consulting, business implementation services and support to Western companies that are doing business in China. Besides, The host family was really friendly. A big thanks to Go Abroad China team for their service, gentleness and fast answers on all our questions. It helped me get experience in a different industry. I would highly recommended Go Abroad China.

Extraordinary Experience in China

After finishing my Bachelor's studies in UK I wanted to gain work experience in a company abroad while improving my Chinese skills. Thus I decided to go to China. In China I work for a German company that has about 100 employees working in the Beijing headquarter. Everyday I experience the Chinese way of doing things and organization style. The differences from my previous jobs are huge. Luckily my boss and co-workers are really friendly and somehow we always manage to communicate what we need with a mix of gestures, English, Chinese and German. The general rules are stricter than what I am used to but the working atmosphere is relaxed and it is not possible to work overtime. My task is to develop a supplier rating system. I work independently but in cooperation with many departments as I rely on their data. For my project I have to analyze and structure the data and then develop a step-by-step guide for the employee on how to carry out the supplier assessment. Overall I am glad to work here for a while and to be able to work so independently. If I wanted to stay longer I would choose a bigger company with more Western structures and closer to the city center but this experience is invaluable and definitely a plus for personal development as well as for adjusting to a new work environment in the future. As I absolutely enjoy travelling and life in new countries I will continue my education after this internship with a Master's programme that will also be abroad. For everybody considering doing an internship in Asia and I can only advise you to not worry too much because you will not regret this experience! Also, I would like recommend Go Abroad China to you, since it is really a professional organization.

The best intern in my life with Go Abroad China

I trusted Go Abroad China to place me in reliable and honest organizations that are 100% committed to making a difference in my country. Go Abroad China brought me to Beijing in 2012. The trip was my own without any friends or family traveling accompanying me. But with Go Abroad China I honestly never felt alone. The best example of how much I trust this organization is that I went back to Go Abroad China for my next trip to Shanghai in 2013. They fit me with an organization as passionate as I am and knowledgeable as I hoped to be. My placement was incredible and I couldn't have imagined a better fit for me. I was working with at least four other interns at a time but we all worked in different areas. Besides I was arranged to stay with a local family, which is my favorite moment in China. When I asked my "mum" if I could go to dance lessons during my time in Shanghai and she was like "dance lessons? Of course! Tonight we'll put on some music and I teach you how to dance.". And so we did and it was so much fun! :) ....At work it was simply every morning when I arrived and everybody screamed "good morning" and hugged me. I felt loved. Along with the time spent with Chinese people, my Chinese skills are improved much. In addition to all of this, I met some other dedicated intern from around the world. In total, we were a group of 10 from 9 countries. The best part of this organization is that you can choose what part of the year you want to go on your trip, so people in the group came and left for various lengths of time. I still keep in touch with my friends overseas today to see how they're doing.
