Volunteer at the Bear Rescue Sanctuary, which is committed to the rescue and rehabilitation efforts for bears facing threats like poaching for bile farms, exploitation as pets, traditional medicine, illegal wildlife trade, and profiteering in the tourist industry.
They have built 21 forested enclosures on seven hectares of land to provide shelter to Asiatic black bears and sun bears of varying personalities and ages. All the enclosures have climbing frames, lush native vegetation, rocks, various enrichment toys, and pools to ensure that the bears are kept healthy and happy.
Several of the bears cannot be reintroduced to the wild because they have been raised as pets or have gone through serious physical abuse. The sanctuary works to provide the bears with the best possible quality of life.
