Green sea turtles are residents in the areas surrounding the project and, during nesting season, many come to the beaches to lay eggs. The hatchlings migrate across entire oceans to feeding grounds, making them consequently at risk from many threats - pollution, fishing nets, poachers, and coastal development. To be able to produce effective protection and conservation program, it is necessary to understand the population. This is why photo surveys and data collection on the turtles in the area are vital.
