Alternative Spring Break : Ultimate College Escape

Jamaica is synonymous with relaxed, carefree vibes. What better place to escape to before the demands of college become all too real? In addition to giving back to local children in this program, you can unwind, take in views of cliffs and beautiful turquoise waters, and experience everything in between. It’s truly a win-win. If you are looking for a bit more excitement, you could find it in the nightlife and clubs on the island, which are guaranteed to offer you a good time. Student volunteers help local staff and plan a summer camp through our partner, Ican Foundation, which hosts an annual summer camp to give local kids the opportunity to improve their literacy and numeracy through lessons. Volunteers also provide an outlet for children to express themselves through sports, drama, arts, and music. Throughout their stay in this program, they experience firsthand how local teachers cope in under-resourced classrooms.
