It's amazing what you can accomplish in just 8 days: lend a hand on projects that help the environment and the local community, and take in the best of what this incredibly biodiverse and culturally rich region has to offer! Enjoy water sports, have fun in the sun, and get your blood pumping on a ziplining expedition. Plus, get to know more about this very special place through its dance, food, and people. Make a meaningful impact as you experience the culture of Costa Rica and its “pura vida” lifestyle while giving back to a rural beach community and the ecosystem.
Program Highlights
Engage with locals and learn some basic Spanish phrases (or practice your more advanced Spanish conversational skills).
Get acquainted with the undersea life of the Pacific on an afternoon snorkeling excursion.
Visit a sea turtle hatchery and learn more about these majestic yet threatened creatures.
Log 15 hours of community service through environment and community-based initiatives.
Learn to dance salsa and merengue, and sample flavorful local dishes and fruits.

Program: GLA Costa Rica: Spring Break Service AdventureGlobal Leadership Adventures (GLA) provided me with a structured and educational experience that allowed me to engage in a variety of activities and service projects. The staff members, particularly Marco and Sarah, were supportive and helped facilitate the program effectively. Activities such as zip-lining, beach days, and a catamaran ride with snorkeling and kayaking added an element of fun and excitement to the program. The service projects were engaging and provided me with the opportunity to learn how to collaborate and work with others effectively. The interactions with fellow students were positive, and everyone displayed kindness and friendliness throughout the program. Overall, GLA offered a well-rounded experience that combined adventure, learning, and community service.

Program: GLA Costa Rica: Spring Break Service AdventureI grew by facing my fears which includes ziplining and I grew by making many friends with people that maybe I wouldn’t have thought I would be friends with. I really liked the dance class and I would have liked to do it for longer! And of course all of the staff were great and I really enjoyed getting to know everyone.
