I am Md Sohanur Rahman from Bangladesh, and I have had a very positive experience at the Department of Economics at Masaryk University (MUNI). The department offers a strong academic environment with a good balance between theory and real-world application. Courses are well-designed and cover important areas like microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and public policy. As an international student, I found the professors to be very supportive and approachable. They encourage open discussion, critical thinking, and independent research, which has helped me grow both academically and personally. I especially appreciated the focus on data analysis and how economic theories are connected to current global issues. Overall, my time at the Department of Economics at MUNI has been a great learning experience. It has prepared me well for my future plans, whether that is pursuing a Ph.D. or working in a multinational company.

Studying the Master’s Degree in Finance at Masaryk University has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life. The program provided a strong balance between theoretical frameworks and practical applications, helping me deeply understand core topics such as corporate finance, financial analysis, accounting, and international economics. The professors are knowledgeable, supportive, and always willing to engage in discussions that challenge your thinking. I particularly appreciated the diverse classroom environment, where students from various backgrounds brought different perspectives to financial topics. Beyond academics, living in Brno was a unique experience. The city is student-friendly, affordable, and culturally vibrant. I also had the opportunity to work part-time, which allowed me to gain real-world experience and apply what I learned in class. Overall, this program not only helped me grow academically and professionally but also personally. My time at the faculty of economics was definitely a good one. After arriving in a new country, I needed some time to warm up but, fortunately, I know some Czechs who kindly included me in the Czech life and culture. Although the level of complexity was not as high as I expected and as I was used to from my Bachelor's, I really appreciate the practical approach during the courses. Working with real-life cases, projects and learn useful management tools really improved my understanding of these topics. Overall, it was a good time and I am thankful for the support from the uni and professors during the courses and administrative obstacles.
