Volunteer Experiences for Medical Students - Ecuador

Volunteering in a healthcare-related project is a great opportunity to practice your medical academic knowledge, gain career training, and serve and make a lasting difference to communities in need. ELEP welcomes pre-health students and aspiring medical professionals looking to enhance their skill sets or gain experience in another community worldwide. Taking part in a healthcare volunteer program is a great way to enhance your medical experience. Volunteer students will be observing and shadowing local staff of professional doctors and nurses, and providing general healthcare to local patients. Depending on their interest, volunteers can spend time in one or various areas of medicine and healthcare, such as general medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, dental health, physical therapy, ophthalmology, surgery, community health, and nursing. Placements are available in medical foundations or public health care centers.
